So as soon as the pil prices dropped, Venezuela had nowhere to go, its main source of income was fried and the money to import things for people had to come out of federal reserves and since imports were so low, there were massive shortages of everything, from toilet papers to bread to every thing imaginable, add to that the massive corruption in government which Chavez didn't attempt to eliminate so as to not anger his supporters and massive benefits given to the army since Chavez's time, Venezuelan economy was basically in a grave spiral and is still in it today but the current government refuses to do anything as it is still rooted deep in Chavez's idiotic policies and believes everything is a western propaganda instead of realizing that their policies have starved the Venezuelan masses. Had it not been for Chavez, Venezuela might be an oil rich economy like the arab countries but his "Socialismo" has destroyed the country's economy. So dear sister, it hurts a lot when someone who is sitting thousands of miles away from a country where the populace struggles to find a loaf of bread on a daily basis, describes the cause of such cataclysmic events as a good leader |

Yes it can be done on your own. I have finished most of the part 1 myself from Joshua Goldstein's book, some YouTube videos and some research papers online. I'm studying physics now, after which I'll start IR's part 2.

Crash course is a very good resource for intro to different topics, I'm surprised people in Pakistan don't know a lot about it

One can learn almost anything from modern day online learning platforms. Coursera, TEDx and youtube are great resources to begin with.

Yes, however it also depends what you study because majority of candidates read excessively one book to another but they unable able to digest the qualitative material with which one could develop an appropriate answer as demanded in questions hence, by considering following points one must know whether they qualify these mentioned areas or not.
a) Your ability to comprehend information b) How you consolidate materials rather than proliferating. c) Your expression and way of presenting materials. Lastly, if you really want to study from teacher or professor please do some background check such as academic, achievements then you could proceed etc Regards, Last edited by Bonaparte; Friday, August 19, 2016 at 10:53 PM. There's a book published by Oxford University Press, the introductory chapters provide an interesting history and prologue to the study of international relations. The book helped me a lot. I'll share the title and author in a day or two for you guys.

I do not second your opinion. These comments help beginners to have an opinion of those who have already covered the syllabus. The analysis of paper 2 as a tough paper is also reflected in the result. You don't worry about the space; forums have enough space to show baseless comments by anyone including you.
