@ Prissygirl

Following are the corrections.....I advice you to work on CNS Anatomy and hormones:

(2) Pancreas secrete:
(e) None of these

Because pancreas also secretes digestive enzymes like chymotrysinogen, pancreatic amylase, trypsinogen etc., therefore, the best choice is (e)

(12) Third ventricle is found in:
(a) Brain of Rabbit

Here examiner asked about ventricle of brain and third ventricle is located in diencephalon. Therefore, the best choice is (a)

(14) Vital morphological and Physiological units of Mammalian Kidney are:
(a) Ureters
(b) Seminiferous tubules
(c) Uriniferous tubules
(d) All of these
(e) None of these

Nephron is the vital morphological and physiological unit of kidney and it is not in the choices so (e) is the best answer.

(15) Which of the following secretes Oxytocin:
(a) Adrenals
(b) Pituitary
(c) Thyroid
(d) Ovaries
(e) None of these

Pituitary gland secretes oxytocin, a vital hormone responsible for milk production and secretion;parturition;orgasm; therefore, (b) is the best choice.

(20) Adrenal glands are found in close association with:
(a) Testes
(b) Spleen
(c) Liver
(d) Ovaries
(e) None of these

Adrenal gland is in close association with Kidneys; therefore, (e) is the best choice.

Thanks

regards

I request from all those who have taken zoology as their optional that if they have the answer of the following question, then please let me know the source or provide me the notes. I shall be very thankful to you:

(b)What is the basic excretory product? Discuss different excretory substances produced in different animals.(12).

Thanks

regards

Secondopinion02

P.S: I would also be glad to have any service on myself if you need any.

thanx for the correction scond opinion.butthere is still one confusion, which i want to make clear is:oxytocin is the hormone secreted from the hypothalamus of the brain and is stored in the lobe of the pitiutary gland.

u can easily get the answer of ur question from the fsc II book

Default Oxytocin confusion

Prissygirl,

Both the answers are right coz Oxytocin is released both from Hypothalamus and Pituitary; in order to make it clear I would like to explain the justification:

1. Pituitary gland is present under the hypothalamus like "a pea having a stalk"

2. Pituitary gland has two lobes in humans: i) Anterior lobe ii) Posterior lobe

3. The posterior lobe receives ready made hormones from the hypothalamus; therefore, posterior lobe acts as a storage area for the hormones from hypothalamus

4. Anterior lobe is composed of glandular tissue and itself manufacture and release the hormones.

Now answer to the confusion:

As the posterior pituitary lobe gets hormone from the hypothalamus; therefore, first hypotalamus releases the hormone i.e, oxytocin, for the posterior pituitary lobe for storage. There are various hormones that are released from hypothalamus to the posterior pituitary, e.g., Oxytocin and ADH (Antidiuretic Hormone). From posterior pituitary lobe, the Oxytocin is released in general circulation.

Therefore, Oxytocin is first released from "Hypothalamus to Posterior lobe of Pituitary gland" and then it is released from "Posterior lobe to the general circulation"

The above explanation is based on an authentic book "Human Anatomy and Phsiology" fourth edition by ELAINE MARIEB, R.N., Ph.D

thanks
