The problem with OIC is that it was directly made a political bloc without any economic base and specific agenda. It can be made more active by the following steps
1)make it an interpreting body firstly
The problem faced by its members are sectarianism and the balmes of terrorism,Islam a static religion , islam spread by sword and certain other problems and propagandas which try to show that islam is not a practicable religion in the present era.So, OIC loses its significance, since it was formulated on the basis of islam.
To remove these problems OIC must be re-structured.It must be made an Islamic intrepreting body.It should include Ulema of all sects from all its member countries, lawyers, researchers to interprete the islamic laws in the present scenario to re-introduce the concept IJTIHAD.This step will mitigate sectarian differences. It will provide the suspicious muslims with solid arguments to support their religion and the solution of their problems in the contemporary world. It will be a step forward to bring the member countries close together on a common ideology as of EU.
2)Convert it to an economic bloc
When the member countries will feel that they have lost their ideological differences and the people of these countries have lost tehir apprehensions about one another , convert this body to an economic bloc. This will promote Islamic banking system as proposed by the Interpreting Body.It will be a step forward for mutual trade and other economic activities.
3)Now the stage is ready for political bloc
When these member countries unite on economic front, it will enable them to formulate a political bloc as done by EU.Since, in the present world economy drives politics, so, this political bloc would be more viable. They can have teir combined forces at this stage as of NATO.
4)don,t ignore the power of media
To safeguard this bloc and to mitigate the effect of negative propaganda the members must concentrate on the electronic and print media.Answer the negative question about islam and the common muslim will be more confident about his religion and unity, since after the Nine-Eleven the common muslim has developed doubts against his own religion due to the negative propaganda waged by the western media.

Though this process is a bit time-taking, yet it will bear good results in future.

Shakoor Sahab, what goes around this border should be more important to you than its length. However, Wikipedia should be treated as authority over any other Pakistani published book unless conditional.

Regards.

Whenever you people are in need of authentic information then search your required data in the official website of any country or organization. I searched about borders length in official webs of Pakistan but all in vain, I found it in CIA Factbook which is also an authentic authority:

Land boundaries of Pakistan:

total: 6,774 km

border countries: Afghanistan 2,430 km, China 523 km, India 2,912 km, Iran 909 km
