i started with a quote from john stuart mill,
"the greatest threat to a society does not come from the government , but from the society itself .which fails to accommodate differing views " ( i do not remember the exact quote right now ).

for economic woes i mentioned the skewed tax system we had and i proposed the solutions ....like taxing the real state and agriculture sector ...i also gave some figures that from IMF reports..

for terrorism i mentioned that it is a political problem and needs a political solution...i also mentioned the heavy price pak had to pay in the war against terrorism . i showed that drones would only infuriate the public and i proposed a conciliatory approach....

Your quotations seem misplaced, buddy!

Your first quote-- blaming society for every ill instead of government-- doesn't corroborate your arguments when you discuss "illiteracy, economic woes, terrorism"; reason being, one way or the other, these problems are emanated from the grave inefficiencies and poor governance on part of the government. In modern nation-state system, it is the government that has to drive the affairs of the state. Society is a subject and not a driver.

By the way, your argument about "drone" is also debatable. All these drone attacks are carried out with tacit approval of GHQ and the government. In support of my argument, I quoted few classified documents that will be eye-opener for an examiner. Although strategic cost of drone strikes exceeds the tactical gains, yet it has yielded some dividends, too.

Thanks dear and yes it helps a lot. You also attempted the question accurately and in right direction. But one thing which i feel is missing in ur ans is that u ve not discussed in futuristic perspective.In other words, the question requires vision of 2011. Have u discussed the vision 2011?Nevertheless ur ans is appreciable but output from other members is also needed in order to confirm the accurate ans of the question.

Guyz, don't narrow-down your future to 2011. How come a status quo of Pakistan could be drastically changed over few months (Paper was in March 2011)? In fact, this question was soliciting your futuristic vision of Pakistan even if it goes beyond 2011.

I don't know why few candidates put romantic quotes which are quite irrelevant to what is being exactly asked. You better quote facts, figures, or any relevant argument from any renowned historian about that issue.

For Example, in this question we were supposed to discuss problems pertaining to Pakistan, its policy ramifications and recommendations for future. How come Aristotle or Shakespeare quotations fit here? Do we attempt to entertain our examiner?

Just to save yourself from awkwardness, the best approach would have been if you had quoted few lines, for example, from Ralph Braibanti research papers "[I][B]Strategic Significance of Pakistan[/B][/I]", Stephen P. Cohen masterpiece "[I][B]Idea of Pakistan[/B][/I]", Ahmed Rashid book "[I][B]Descent into Chaos[/B][/I]" etc., who discussed Pakistan and its grave challenges and gave an incisive and refreshingly bold analysis about Pakistan's polity.

How come Aristotle or Shakespear fits in this question? I don't understand but it sounds weird and preposterous to me, friends!
