change of narration...

He said to us, "You cannot do this problem alone".
he told us that we couldn't do that problem alone.

The beggar asked the rich lady if she could not pity the sufferings of an old and miserable man and help him with a rupee or two.
The begger said to the rich lady,"Can you not pity the suffering of an old and miserable man and help me with a rupee or two?"

The Commander said to the soldiers, "March on".
The commander ordered the soldiers to march on.

He entreated his master respectfully to pardon him as it was his first fault.
He said to his master,"Please pardon me as it is my first fault".

"Do you really come from America? How do you feel in Pakistan?" Said I the stranger.
I asked the stranger whether he really came from america and how he felt in pakistan.

The officer threatened the peon to come in time otherwise he would be turned out.
The officer said to the peon,"Come in time otherwise you will be turned out".

People wished that the Quaid e Azam had been alive those days to their fate.
"The Quaid e Azam had been alive these days to our fate!" ,people wished.

They said, "Brave! Imran, what a shot".
They exclaimed with joy to imran for his shot.

Something like that
well i couldnt find either supernatural or natural in the comprehension. I wrote that the difference was that sense of agony that the human being's feel while thinking about death. Children any sense of agony when they think about darkness

I am surprised why hasnt anyone written:

He had come yesterday

whereas, this is also correct.
and if you talk about arshad one, i think that the presence of 'else' wont make much of a difference as both these forms are correct, What remains to be seen is that whether the examiner thinks both of them to be correct or not.

Furthermore, in my point of view, both perenial and immortal should be fine as both, in a context, mean the same thing.

About the eagle carrying the lizard, i need to ask that isnt the word carried away? since there was no such option, i think that 'carried up' MIGHT be a better option than carried off because, though i rarely find any sentence with carried off or carried up, i still think carried up might have been a safer bet.

Furthermore, if somebody remembers the last 10 mcq's, can he/she care to share please?

Regards,

Perennial means lasting or active through many years. to explain the difference b/w the two, please consider that man wants immortality and not perenniality. i mean i have never come across perenniality used for mortals.

as far as away, up, and off is concerned. in my opinion, carried away is by water or air. which carries a thing/stuff away from you. for explanation, just as a plane takes off and not takes up!

Question Are these answers correct??????

"Do you really come from America? How do you feel in Pakistan?" Said I the stranger.
I asked the stranger whether he really came from america and how did he feel in pakistan.

People wished that the Quaid e Azam had been alive those days to their fate.
They said, "Would that Quaid e Azam were alive these days to see our fate!"

They said, "Brave! Imran, what a shot".
They praised imran for his shot.

Praised i guess praised would be appropriate to use when you are complementing a quality that a person or thing might possess. for example: praise beauty! appauladed is the right word here! appauld is used for some action.

When it comes to sports or any general action, one does not appreciate. It's like a clap or a feeling of joy which overtakes one! and thats applaud. Appreciate is used with other entities like efforts, motives etc. (although you do applaud efforts as well but rarely)

Anyways my view may be wrong!
