It was a balanced paper, but same old issue with OBJECTIVES, but I attribute this to my laziness.. Anyhow, yes, all is well that ends well..Best wishes for all! |

I think this was a very poorly-designed paper, especially with respect to the last three questions. And once again, IR theory (realism, liberalism, Marxism, nation states, power, concepts) was largely ignored and this paper was more of a current affairs paper than one that can be called an IR exam per se. You needed around 6 hours if you had to satisfactorily answer all these questions instead of simply just dropping facts and paraphrasing your arguments.

But the problem with the question is that the answer has already been provided to us, we just have to elaborate on it. The length of the question didn't allow for any real input from the candidate either. Quote:

Well, some of the Mcqs were a bit confusing, but the subjective part was good, the only problem was that every question covered lots of things, i wrote on 15 pages for the last question. this type of general questions are meant to check the personal ability of the candidates rather than their bookish subject knowledge, are good but a bit time consuming.

Actually now two or more Questions are being merged in every Question and the Question finally becomes very long, time taking and multidimensional. The paper is set in such a way that students must miss any part of the Question, same trend is being observed this year..

I fully agree with sanguine..such papers and questions though appear easy but their marking is tough perhaps..this time the questions were coupled with multiple topics. at a glance it appeared quite confusing...
