OR every piece/article of furniture in this display is on sale for half the (regular/usual) price

2.he is abusing his father's money

OR the duty of the new secretary is answering the telephone, typing letters and bookkeeping

5.to talk through one's hat (?)
6. Hum and haw ( one who do not say some thing clear , ambiguity )

respected madam ,,,,my humble opinion ,as i appeared in this exam,,still a learner;i am .so just sharing my viewpoint,,,is it not the simplest case you missed in the last sentence "than" will be incorrect ,it will be "then",,,,secondly madam .....he is misusing his father,s money ,will be correct because possessive sense is quite clear in it .....

Nope. I am not wrong there. Its THAN, not THEN.
Father's money can be abused. If the sentence is not wrong, there is absolutely no need to change anything. If you change anything needlessly, paper checker will know that the candidate was not confident enough and he has changed it because he believed that something has to be changed anyway.

What if we use "No sooner did we leave the shop than it began to rain"?
and is it correct to say "All the furniture in this display is on sale for half price."
