hello,dear friends,
in the above paper ,clearly i would attemp question one or two .the main reason behind it is that it is the most simple and the most difficult and the most technical and the most important these are related to sociology and economics ,my subject.

Here i would like to tell all the collegues to write on these topics,so that we can share our views for a better result.

Clearly every one can write on these topics,so let us start that.

In my view writting on the first topic, initially we should define what is a poverty world wide.what the scholers said about it ,is it a menace or is it a necessory for todays world.

in the other instance what may be the helpful strategies in this regard.for example
01-spreading literacy
02-awarness among the masses
03-right uses of natural resources
04-industrialization
05-basic facilities like
06-access to the market
07-right and strong banking system
08-technical education
09-science and technology
10-to promote agrarian economies
11-promoting non governmental organization
12-adult education like para leka punjab, and roshni schools as in bhutto regime

any one who can write on these hends?
waiting for soonest reply from all friends,
ismail khan

thank you,
tabassum,
for giving my points a descipline and adding some of yours,i m thankful to you.
here i would like to further strengthen the research on poverty alleviation worldwide.

POVERTY

I have seen most of the people very hungry, they see God in their bread.-----by Mahathma ghandi.....

poverty is one of the main problems of this computer world. first as you said we have to clearly define what is a poverty.then the indicators and parameters ,we use to define and draw the data about poverty.

in remedies i would like to add some more points.

01-by conducting seminars and making delegates around the world to come and discuss the issue.
02-UNO can play a better role by forcing rich countries to donate more to poverty.
03-by making employement oppotunities in rich countries not on race, religion ,country or color.
04-to stop the aggression toward poor countries by the west.
05-for pakistan, making the country more export oriented,so that to promote the local industry.
06-every individual can play a role by using home-made articles.
07-by sighning contracts with other countries for free-trade zone.
08-by stoping smugling in all its forms.
09-a more democratic govt than dictatorship.
10-making obsolete old costoms, thrown in to the basket, like jahiz and many more.
11-more schlorships for poor students.
12-secetarianism
13-terrorism
14-tourism developement
15-privatization
and many more

critisism makes me perfect.

Dear ismail, yes u r right that i disciplined ur idea by emplacing them in a systematic manner. As i stated, ''i wil only try to give out a rough idea''

May Allah bless you for ur furthering the issue.

Please one correction, better to replace 'a poverty' with 'the poverty' or simply 'poverty'

One more thing, the examiner would be most concerned with the poverty alleviation in Pakistan.

It is better to quote sayings of notables as u did above. Though i did'nt quote any, as i m not well versant with the sayings, i suppose.

dear accordingly u can adjust easily the sequence of points making the essay more Pakistanized.

The root cause in my opinion is "injustice".

Though everything has been mentioned. THE ONE strategy in my opinion is shifting the tax burden.

Pakistan has a very flawed mechanism of taxing directly and indirectly. Poor are worst affected rather than the rich people.

The tax system reduces the poor into a pauper.

(Its really strange that ACs, TVs, Cars, Computers etc. that are used by the rich get cheaper day by day but flour, sugar, vegetables, meat etc. get expensive day by day and affect the poor more adversely)

In my opinion Govt. should charge exorbitant taxes on the stuff that are solely used by the rich people. Raising the taxes from 100-200% would be a good idea.

This will help collecting a lot of money into the national treasury. Then the Govt. needs to play the role of good governance and distribute the wealth into the masses to reduce the equalities.

Plutocracy should be extirpated and equality should be sustained.

Regards,
Adil Memon

I have my essay on Poverty Alleviation on this forum. People can check it to learn from my limited knowledge.

dear ACs, TVs, Cars, Computers etc. are not only being utilized by the rich, though rich use ACs and Cars in huge number

actually istead of raising the tax on the commodities/products used by rich upto 100-200 %, the system of taxing should be made correct, lets say 'if the tax levied on various products, at present day percentage, is received than the national treasurery would gain a lot', however, if need arise the tax can be increased upto 30-50 %

the indirect taxes are paid by all and sundray (better to say is recieved from all and sundry by government), however, the ration for direct taxes is very low, because either people do not give tax or the officials get bribe for lowering the tax amount

i do remember a market in faizabad, murree road, rawalpindi, whereby the tax officials collect money from the shop owners and out of which very less is sent in the government treasurery

and i can remember another moment, perhaps eight or nine years back when friend of my elder brother told that he is paying more tax than the then prime minister of Pakistan !, and he was a government gazetted officer ???

similarly, many persons are involved in pilferage of water, stealing of electricity from WAPDA poles etc.

so, in addition to other options, tax system should also be improved ...

Salaam Brother,

Thanks for dissenting...

My point was to allude to all the luxury items that are used by the rich people only. See, a poor never buys the latest 21"+ colour TV. A poor never buys a Toyota Saloon. A poor will never buy the latest P4 3.2GHz+ (on HT Tech). Charging such items with something like 100% (if not 200%) tax will boost the treasury and suck the money from the bank balances of the rich. The rich peple cant live without luxury and we need to tax everything that they buy.

(You are a good guy and I guess you understand that all the problems of Pakistan will be solved once the disparities between rich and poor are removed. My strategy (don't know either its logical or not) will accomplish things pretty soon. Once the equality is attained, Pakistan will fly)

I truly understand your direct and indirect taxing strategy. Infact thats what I keep reading in the newspaper. I presented my own ideas because everybody knows whats written in the newspapers.

I have tried to present something new apart from CONVENTIONAL IDEAS.

Regards,
Adil Memon

PS: Efficient is a must for my strategy as well (otherwise it will just fail like the present one).
