Undoubtedly,it is a tough and technical question.i dont think so we have to discuss shah waliullah's role.in my opinion it is better to write about his reforms precisely.but the demand of the question is to critically evaluate the statement.

it is a very risky question, and i have taken the risk of attempting this question.

@silent volcano..thine attempt for sure is a courageous one but dear...the answer called for an entirely different perspective-it says that the social life ov moslims would only be affected if they groom up intelectualy...so,shah wali uLLAH actually strived to alter the good old beliefs ov muslims...his was a PURITANIAN movement...he wished for an altogether new orientation in the mindsets ov muslims...he wanted them to stand up and begin a study a, thorough study ov thier religion...he perceived that religion is not the monoply or personal property ov anyone...he had a throbbing vision ...he wanted to influence the muslim lives by altering their intellectuality...!hope am clear...
regards

but dear the question demanded the critical evaluation of question from our side.whatever you discussed is another perspective not critical one.

the examiner knows better ..hope for the best.

it holds a central position in the question indeed...it had to be discussed...the statement was to be critically explored....it wasnt this that it meant k the intellectual life had nothing to do with the social one...both are inter connected...and all had to be elaborated...i wrote abt 20 pages to critically evaluate the statement and shah's role both...ALLAH would be there to reward i presume...good luck to you...infact what i wrote earlier happens to be a critical exploration ov the statement ...see the question it says ....discuss critically...now the statement was to be discussed critically..the realisation ov shah AND HIS TREMENDOUS EFFORTS TO RE.ORIENTATE the muslim mind...this is the crux ov the evaluation that was demanded dear...read my words again...i was talking all about SHAH and the realisation he made...!examiner surely knows but the question was crystal clear-have you gone through the book by I.H qureshi? it actually has a detailed note regarding this...all the paper was extracted from the book..."moslim community of indo-pakistan"!...

That's why i didnt attempt this question although i had a very good know how and detail about Auliya Allah's.............

Q2. Shah Waliullah realised "The renaissance of Islam and Muslim Society can not be affected until the intellectual life of the Muslims is re-oriented." Discuss Critically.
Well in this question examiner asked three things
1. Renaissance of islam and muslim society
2. Condition of Intellectual life of muslims
3. Shah Wali Ullah's contribution in realization of above facts....along with our critical analysis with intermixed approach of facts

I was not in much detail with the 2nd part of the question which created a lot of fuss for me i wasted 7 minutes in drawing rough work on it and then realized its better to quit this que and move one....
