Hussan Basri’s PBUH “You hearts are not just withered but these are dead, otherwise these would have bloomed up with my words.” “Be in the world as if you were a stranger.” Sufis’ suggestions Religions and the humanity Worse becomes the Worst after 9/11 Words of a poet “Laid, in corner of bed, Mad in fears and sad. Awaken alone at night, Peace is slain out-side. Red rain started to shower, Oh! dead silence, hovers over. With hands ears he locked, Buried loneliness got rocked. Peace is now no more, Screams knock the door!” The Solutions. . Sufi’s teachings should be spread out. . Soul must not be forgotten in intoxication of scientific age. .Soul should be given its diet . Pigeons and doves should be freed. . Religious teachings should not be neglected. . True treasure of tears should be adopted to purify the soul. Conclusion “Universal truth, I am unknown, Unseen came and I do go alone. Unproven, unheard! I’m to gone. Visit inside; I am in the veil, Vagabond of peace here in hell! Victimized love caged in the jail.” Soul’s sufferings go on and on if it is trapped in materialistic and earthly desires. As, roses are withered and burnt if thrown into fires. Soul is the purest like sunny-sun-shine. Sweet sorrowful soul’s sufferings are in scientific age. Furthermore, Impurity and purity can’t live together. If fish is gotten out of water and thrown on dried and burning ground, it will feel panic and die. Same, if soul is chained and shackled in a cage of worldly desires, it shall weep and suffer a lot. Lilly blooms up in spring, and gets withered in autumn. Spring for soul is spirituality and autumn for soul is materialistic desires, which are found most in scientific age. Soul’s ultimate aim is to be of beloved. Bulbul has to be of the flower. Red-legged-partridge has to be of a moon. And, moth has to be of fire. Soul had an ultimate aim. World has forgotten this. People have been busy with the scientific age. Soul suffers and feels panic, but none takes care of it. Everyone is busy with the own world. Soul’s sufferings go on and on. Soul blooms up with diet of love and remembrance of the lord. Would the rose be not withered if not given sun-shine and water? For soul, the food is; love of the lord. It gets weakened and consumed if it is not given its food. It weeps and bears torments, tensions, tragedies and tortures of world. Soul is innocent like the sheep. It bears the shocks and lurches of separation of Lord. Scientific age has created millions of things for mortal body and soul is neglected _the real essence of human. Indeed, soul agonies in the scientific age into the cage of body. Body is the mortal and soul is eternal. World is fulfilling the wishes and desires of body and soul is avoided. Human’s body is trapped into materialistic and lusty wishes. Where the soul cries like the voice of reed but none listens to its sighs. Like Rumi says in his poem on reed in which reed is compared with soul, “Listen to the reed (flute), how it is complaining! It is telling about separations,” One’s soul complains but none ears it. Everyone listens to the body. Car, money, gold and all luxuries of world, all chase these. Soul is left in laments and lurches. Moulana Jallal Din Rumi says, “My soul is racing ahead of me. It says, the body is too slow for me - I am going.” Indeed, body is too slow. In the scientific age body has become the slowest. It has been intoxicated with the injection of world and scientific inventions. Soul wants to run away. It cries to God. “Oh Lord, call me back, call me back, the love we lack, call me back.” Human beings work, sleep, eat, dung and die. Just for the desires of body. The slowest, it is. And, soul suffers and pleads to its lord. Scientific age has invented nuclear bombs, atom bombs, missiles, guns and rifles and innocent soul is terrified to see cruel actions of human-kind. It weeps to see blood and wars. First World War and 2nd World War have left bloody sufferings for soul. And, bird of love the dove is flown away and pigeon is not found anywhere. Scientific inventions are just for desires of body. The television, mobiles, air conditioners, computers etc and everyman is entangled into these. As soul is forgotten or lost. What has scientific age done for soul? Nothing! It has done nothing but has given laments and torments to soul. Man has fallen into the deep and dark ditch of ignorance. Where he has lost his conscious and all the time is in intoxication of world. Ego and Man’s materialistic desires have killed thousands of innocents. He chases behind money, wishes for expensive cars and dances into the shameless bars. He has forgotten and has become merchants of woman. His feelings have become worse than of dogs. Innocents are raped and killed. Scientific age has given way to materialistic desires. It was the time when people used to fight with hands, then swords. Now they fight with nuclear power. Two atom bombs had scratched the history of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thousands were killed. Cattles were finished. Plants, birds, animals and insects had been turned into ashes. Still, those atom bombs’ terror is in soul of Japanese and world. Nuclear power the scientific invention has given great loss to soul and humanity. And, Man has fallen into deep and dark ditch of ignorance. Youngsters of this scientific age are strayed. They are not given lessons of spirituality but are given materialistic desires. They whirl the bikes, go for long-drives and use internet. The more they get busy in earthly wishes the more they become far from spirituality. They abuse their parents, leave their homes if parents taunt. They use mobiles and go for dates. But, they do nothing for the soul and don’t think for the soul. On account of they are busy with their scientific world. Their souls weep and take sobbing sighs. Man has become busy with worldly desires. Lust and power have trapped the man. Hazrat Gousay Azam Dastageer Says, “The strongest animal on earth is Nafs.” Nafs means, the materialistic desires. Materialistic desires have been shouldered by scientific inventions. Man is all the time busy with needs and wishes of world. He gets no time for soul. Soul needs its diet the love and remembrance of lord. And, Alas! Soul is withered and weakened. One day Hassan Basri was speaking about spirituality. And, there were two men whose souls were weakened by materialistic desires. They were listening to his words and suggestions and others were weeping. When Hassan basri left speaking. Those two men said with pity, “Our hearts are withered; your words didn’t affect our hearts.” And Hassan Basri replied to them. “Your hearts are not just withered but these are dead, otherwise these would have bloomed up with my words.” Materialistic desires not only kill the hearts but weaken and wither the souls. Prophet Mohammad Peace be upon him says, “Be in the world as if you were a stranger.” One can know from this Hadith. That one should not be familiar and closer with world. One should not keep desires of world into his heart. As he is the stranger. But, in this scientific age people are spelled by scientific inventions. Man is crippled. Soul suffers to see ill actions of man. Man has forgotten the very lesson _Be far away from world. As Saint Kabir says, “O Kabir, when you were born, you cried while others laughed. Perform such deeds that when dying, you laugh while others cry.” He can only laugh while dying when his soul is happy, sees his Beloved and when he is free from wishes of world. If he is entangled in wishes of world, he will cry along with others. Every Sufi and mystic has called the world apple of discord. On account of world brings demise to soul. They gave value to soul. They called soul the part of Lord. Sufi gave the soul its diet love and remembrance of lord. Today, they are known Wali-Allah (Friends of Allah). A Sufi says, “Live into world, let not world live in you.” World is worst for soul. It gives the soul the sufferings. World derails the man from its true path. As Hazrat Ali R.A says, “Oh! World, I have divorced you three times.” And, this, scientific age is strong part of world, let it be divorced. After the 9/11 thousands of Human-kind are killed in Afghanistan. Just on figure tips souls are tugged out. Suicide Bomb-blasting has been common in Pakistan. People are killed as the ants are flown by water. Guns and Dynamites have been a game for people. Why the lover of peace would not suffer? It is suffering and mourning. After the 9/11 world has gotten another way to kill the innocents _The suicide bomb-blasting. Worse is being worst. As a poet speaks about child and bomb-blasting: Laid, in corner of bed, Mad in fears and sad. Awaken alone at night, Peace is slain out-side. Red rain started to shower, Oh! dead silence, hovers over. With hands ears he locked, Buried loneliness got rocked. Peace is now no more, Screams knock the door! All the religions of world have given value to love and humanity. And all prophets have said to spread love and peace. But, in this scientific world, people are strayed. They have forgotten the real way of life. They kill, beat, abuse, miss behave and throw bombs. No name of peace and harmony is remained. World has become worse than hell. Blood sheds every where. Morality of women is lost. Calamities of God are falling down over the chest of earth. No life is safe. People are killed just for the sake of pennies and honour. Mercenary people chase behind luxuries _Mercedes and Palaces. And, they see not anything in intoxication of power. Albert-Einstein says, "Science without Religion Is Lame, Religion without Science Is Blind.” But, world has left following on straight path of religions. That is why soul suffers. The following solutions should be taken to finish the sufferings of soul. . Sufi’s teachings should be spread out. . Soul must not be forgotten in intoxication of scientific age. .Soul should be given its diet . Pigeons and doves should be freed. . Religious teachings should not be neglected. . True treasure of tears should be adopted to purify the soul. Drop has to be merged with ocean. Everything has demise except soul. Soul is eternal. And, Alas, How fool the man is; he is chasing behind mortal body and world. Scientific age has been a craze for people. Everyone has become blind. People have forgotten the ultimate aim of soul. Soul suffers but none feels its panics. Soul is suffering in scientific age. It mourns for love and peace. Rumi says, “When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.”

There are
References from English, Punjabi and other Literatures.
Clues to social evils
Political awareness

In fact, I can't assess the qualities, but wish you the best of luck!

Please guide us to prepare essays like such above.
Thanks a lot

Well,If you trust my words,I never prepared any essay, not even in my educational life.I have always been creative since my school days.Besides,I'm masters in English Literature ,that's why,I was able to write all those references from English lit & I have also keen interest in Urdu lit so it also helped.

I told you my background so that you might get my point that I have no technique to attempt an essay

Generally speaking, one must practice writing a lot.If you want to attempt a literary essay, you must read available literary essays and read literature as well.Memorize such quotes which can be adjusted in any literary essay.

Make your essay check by any learned professor so that you may come to know about your mistakes.

All the best

Brother.
The word Criticism does not only mean pointing out the negative aspects.
Critical basically means in-depth analysis of something that includes both Positive as well as Negative aspects.

I second your opinion Ali.
60 % of the essay has to be for Causes and Consequences while the remaining 40 % for the rest of the stuff.
