@Zara,

My paper went very fine but while attempting the question of Durkheim, I explained in detail his theory of suicide and while explaining anomic suicide, I explained anomie and then moved on to explaining "How this theory can help to reduce the you suicide attacks"..Now I am thinking I should have made a separate heading explaining ANOMIE but in paper, this skipped my mind as I had explained all this in his anomic suicide and in whole question, I kept giving reference of Durkheim.

Bit unease now as I think I should have explained that separately as well. But my question had already exceeded 5-6 pages BEFORE I moved on to youth part!

There is a difference between his theory of Anomy and Anomic suicide.but dont worry.relevance hui to it would be recognized.

i really like FPSC's move for conceptual papers this year.this is CSS and and cramming and bookish paper should be avoided.i am enjoying the exam.

mahwish siddique Friday, March 02, 2012 01:06 PM

yeah you are right ,but to attempt conceptual papers you have to go through the basics of that subject

i attempted four questions but couldnt sure of any one of them
because in such conceptual and analytical papers all depends on examiner,
may be i had explained all my view points but examiner is demanding something else.

so mostly questions in my paper are on risk;)

Ali Mallah Friday, March 02, 2012 03:42 PM

This is good, paper must be conceptual but please think for a while was it a paper of graduation level? Every one opting sociology does not have masters in the subject.

@Zara,

Yes,while explaining the anomic suicide, I explained in detail that this is suicide is DUE to anomie in the society or "normlessness" in the society. So while explaining that, I explained the "anomie" concept. Waisey, according to my knowledge anomic suicide is caused in the society due to anomie or normlessness in the society..isn't it..?

obviously, anomy causes anomic suicide but Theory of Anomy is Theory of Deviance of Durkheim.

Ahmed Faisal Friday, March 02, 2012 07:05 PM

I explained it in my own way, i wrote different theories about suicide, such as feudalism, unequal distribution of wealth, bourgeoisie, brainwash...is it workable??:angle

hmmmm u r right that in such conceptual papers all depends on examiner, but to my mind this is ur task to make examiner agree on ur points... i think so ur arguments must be so storng that examiner cannot go against them.. no doubt c.s.s is game of luck to large extent but it is not so that u have attempted 4 question and examiner will not aknowledge it... so chill:vic:vic:vic

very right... but i think so this year many people went for sociology:blink... may be because of the fact that last year it fetched very good marks... so paper was difficult and conceptual to eradicate the cramming trends of students...

Ali Mallah Sunday, March 04, 2012 12:28 AM

Yes exactly the number of candidates are increasing day by day. Previously essay was the only distinguishing paper, but this year a number of papers will be deciding the fate of the candidates. Optionals this year have surprised all instead of compulsory papers.

hassam malhi030 Wednesday, February 27, 2013 03:30 AM
