If you have no previous knowledge of the subject than you cannot rely on opinions only.
You should also consult the related journals as opinions only deliver the solutions and will not tell you the ABC of the related topic. G&PP is easy to understand if you have interest in politics and policy making process. The one with the political science background can quickly and easily understand the subject.
and which journals would you suggest?

Can someone please suggest any good book of Governance and public policy... I have no background of this subject and I am preparing from the very start. Also if someone can share any reliable internet source for reading material related to this subject, that would be highly appreciated. I am awaiting for your response seniors.
Thanks in advance

1. Start by reading Mark Bevir's Encyclopedia of Governance. He had given elaborate account of theories and main ideas of governance, make sure you follow css syllabus.
2. Akmal hussain's book 'Power Dynamics' is available from his website.
3. I Niaz's thesis 'The Culture..' is also an excellent book on backdrop and current scenario of governance and public administration in Pakistan. You can download it easily from lums site.
I would highly recommend Maleeha lodhi's book 'Pakistan: beyond the crisis state' (you will have to buy it, i could not find ebook easily, although youtube videos of her book presentations are available).
After attempting governance paper two times in a row, i am sure now this paper was made by town planning examiner! One more thing, subject name should be changed to governance only if they continue to make such pattern. Not a single thing about public policy, though policy question was included but it was about an economic policy. Anyways one could only hope for the best.
please guide me for GPP's prepration

Encyclopedia of governance will hardly work if the exam follows the pattern of 2017.
Key topics were Islamic Governance, Constitution, Pro-poor growth.
