All these points form the heading of CIRCULAR DEBT.

U posted that everybody wrote point of 'Circular Debt' then do u want people to repeat points n paragraphs in Essay?

The Suffering soul in the scientific age

Introduction

In pieces my soul has torn,
But I have no time to mourn,

Time is passing and passing on,
Life's vehicle is buzzing its horn,

Polluted soul and body deserve not,
To face the one who lives in heart,

Hatred,malice,envy and lies,
on my soul like buboes rise,

Would that I were a baby on my death,
With a pure heart and sacred breath!

by Farrah Zafar

  • Materialism is the death of spirituality
  • Man's material progress versus moral decline

"Man has looked into the volcanoes, dived into the ocean, perforated the earth, winged its flight in the skies. This material progress has led him to ditch of moral deprivation.etc

  • What is soul and its importance
  • soul is immortal, body is mortal
  • Truth beautifies soul
,
Keats says,"Beauty is truth, truth beauty, that is all ye know on earth and all ye need to know

  • description of soul In literary works

Faustus cries out for his soul, fears eternal damnation

John Proctor in "The Crucible" says, I have given you my name, leave me my soul.

Effects of soul's suffering

On individual level
  • Frustration,depression,despondency
  • examples of two men belonging to this scientific age

One who seduced female dead bodies

One who raped small children

On Family Level
  • weak bond of affection
  • example of western countries

old homes,Orphanages (having children who don't know the names of their fathers)

  • Youngsters have no sense of direction, they are confused because of weak
family institutions

On National and International level
  • souls have become impure
  • no sympathy for mankind

example ,nuclear bombing on Nagasaki

  • Material progress has made man hollow inwardly.

Seamus Heaney has depicted well the hollowness of modern man in his poem,"The Hollow Men"

Poem by Prabhakar bargurde

Comrade

Don't be in hurry for revolution

you are still very small.

Your ability to resist

atrocities,boycotts and rapes,

that go on every moment

has become nil,

Comrade !

Tomorrow's dawn is yet to rise,

sleep undisturbed until then...

Reasons

1)Materialim

  • it has deprived man of joy, love, affection and harmony.

  • he runs after material progress, therefore neglects his soul

2)Lust for power
  • man wants to attain power by hook or crook,he ignores his soul

"Power corrupts man and absolute power corrupts absoulutely"

example of character of Kurtz by Joseph Conrad.

He cries out, fearing damnation of his soul,

"The horror ! The horror"

3)astrayed from religion
  • all religions support love and kindness for humanity.People of this scientific
age are astrayed from the way of religion, that is why, their souls are suffering.
  • The sufi poets emphasized on purgation of soul but their messages have been
ignored.

  • A sufi poet said,

"Kadi Mann apnay wich tu warrya he nae"

You never introspected your heart.

  • Generally all prophets and specifically Holy prophet (PBUH) laid emphasis on
love for mankind.

"If one kills a man with no reason, one kills the whole humanity"

Solution

  • Method of Introspection should be adopted to purify soul
  • Spirituality should be focused rather materialism
  • Love and peace should be spread.
  • Teachings of religions generally and Islam specifically should be followed
  • The only food for soul is self control and prayers

ہے دل کے لیے موت مشینوں کی حکومت
احساس مروت کو کچل دیتے ہیں آلات

(The reign of machines is the death of heart. The instruments crush the feelings of courtesy and kindness.)

Please comment
Great work!

I would like to voice some thoughts in regards to your outline.

• Materialism is the death of spirituality: Unless materialism is clearly defined, this statement tends to ignore the importance of the material world. Islam has laid great emphasis on the material world: nature is a source of knowledge in the Quran.
I think spiritualism and materialism ought to run parallel to each other. One should compliment the other.

• Truth beautifies soul: How are you associating the truth with spirituality in this context?

One who seduced female dead bodies; One who raped small children: We cannot restrain that argument exclusively to the scientific age. Similar examples to exist prior to the scientific age.

• it has deprived man of joy, love, affection and harmony: It would be appropriate to provide a few functional definitions of the terms since there are numerous measures of joy and happiness - material wealth; friends; intellectual satisfaction; etc.

• all religions support love and kindness for humanity.People of this scientific
age are astrayed from the way of religion, that is why, their souls are suffering: Again, this equally applies to the times prior to the scientific age. For instance, the crusades; the cult of the assassins, etc.

• Spirituality should be focused rather materialism: I would say materialism should supplement spiritualism.

• Teachings of religions generally and Islam specifically should be followed: I think it would be good to specify which teachings are the most basic and fundamental – Islam is the official religion in Saudi Arabia & Iran.

Thanks!

This was a great attempt!

Best of luck! :-)

It would lead to long discussion which I can't afford for time being so in short,

1)Materialism(regarding topic) clearly means over- lust for materialistic pursuits, the one that deprives man of love, affection and kindness. The one that has turned him into machine.

2)An unseen topic it was ! I attempted it in my own way, perhaps I did justice with it.I appreciate your criticism but it's of no use for me as this outline isn't for mere practice;it can't be edited

Thank you & pray for my success

Sir jee, with due respect ....all good teachers of essay keep saying one thing that 90% are unable to understand and often "misread"..and it is "ye English essay ka paper hai....knowledge ka nahi...knowledge baqi 11 subjects mei check hojati hai....its all about ur command over english language and its all about how u can produce a good writing out of something u virtually dont know about"
anyways my topic wasnt education systems..i dint write on it but i did make its outline ...actually i made outlines for 2 topics n then decided to go for "brains like hearts go where they r appreciated"
