Some of you may know about this already, but it is really interesting to understand what were the real causes that made both the towers of World Trade Center collapse. Given that it really were the terrorists who flew the planes in the towers, the real causes are very much different. For those of us who dont know, the Empire State building survived being razed to the ground of the fires that errupted 914 feet above street level when a twin-engine US Army Air Corps B-25 bomber crashed into the building due to heavy fog on July 28, 1945. The reason was that the fire crew was successfully able to extinguish the fire and rescue people by using the brickwalled fire-safe stair wells that are part of the buidling safety codes. Only ten lives were lost that day.

In the case of the Twin Towers, the requirement for brick-walled stair wells was gotten rid of from the permission of the city government by lobbying of the big firm companies involved. The brick stair wells were reducing the amount of office space that could be rented. But this was only the begining. The safety codes also specify the spraying of fireproofing material on the steel structure of the building. The fireproofing makes the structure denser and heavier, which was impeding the height of the building. So, the fireproofing requirement was also cut by half from the government for this purpose. In reality, not even half of the fireproofing was done and the costs were pocketed by the big capitalist firms. Moreover, another requirement of testing buidling components in baking furnaces for fire stability was simply ignored.

If all of this was not enough, the fires in 1975 that spread from 9th to 19th floor considerably sagged the structure. The signs were all there... but
nothing was done to restore the structure and follow the codes.

The result? People were falling out of the skies as fire crew had no access to the floors above the fire. The steel structure which otherwise would have been able to withsand such fire started to sag and the building collapsed before even the whole fire crew could get out.

As they say, what goes around comes around. This country is based on capitalism and corporate greed which led to the tragic events of September 11. The US subsequently attacked Afghanistan and then Iraq. Now in Iraq they are learning the lessons what they should have learned on September 11. Bush now wants to be out of there by spring or sooner but I am still not sure exactly why?

From my knowledge on civil engineering, the way the twin towers collapsed right into their basement, it wasn't the aeroplanes that caused this. Anywhere in the world, when a building needs to be demolished, timed dynamites are used so that the building collapses straight down and does not effect the neighbouring structures. It was an intelligent planning, the planes were simply a drama, whereas the real job was done by timed bombs that exploded one by one from top to bottom to bring the huge structure down.

Busharraf is quite right in raising such a suspicion. willam moore the director of the movie "Fahreheit 9/11", along with another american author(whose name i can't remember right now), have also made such suspicions that it was a pre-meditated demolition-through-dynamite hoax....
there was another rumour around those days, that, there was not a single jew present within the premisis of those towers, at the time of that catastrophe.
i am not sure about te second presumption , but the former one really holds some logical ground

Yeah no steel high-rise building has ever collapsed due to fire And on 9/11, three of them collapsed in a matter of hours.. hmmm … what happened was Bush was in trouble and he knew it. his rating was in the shitter so he needed something to build some better numbers on so he figured a few dead americans would be a good stepping stone for him.. Bush is a despicable human being..he has tread on the graves of thousands… he had to kill a few more before the next presidential election… that’s where Iraq comes in.. the people of Iraq are simply a way to gain support and divert attention away from his failing economic policy.

We know a few things about 9/11..we know for example that Bush was briefed about the possibility of an attack and that that attack was expected to be in the form of hijacking airliners.. that alone should have put him in a state of increased security. Instead he rolled over and went back to sleep on his ranch in Texas… finishing his month long vacation was far more important than trying to protect the people.. FACT is BUSH KNEW .. it doesn't matter how much he knew what matters is that he chose to do absolutely nothing about it. And if there is ever an investigation about it he will be impeached and possibly jailed
