Well, as per United Nations resolution 2249 adopted in 2015 which signifies that all nations agree to provide diplomatic support as well as co operation under International Law, and now there is a serious question lies upon United Nations adherence to Law as well. As per legal status from both sides if viewed then, Russia is not part of NATO however, Moscow is a permanent member of United Nations Security Council. Under United Nations Chapter VII, Article 51, "Act of aggression against any UN member and other breaches of the Peace, allows the Organisation to use force for the purpose. In the other hand, Turkey is part of NATO, and under NATO`s Article 5, attack on any NATO member Would be considered to use collective force against the aggressor nation.Hence, I see no any Military confrontation between these states however, diplomatic tensions possibly flare up and asymmetric warfare between these nations could escalate at worst which is already happening in the Syria and Iraq.
