Does democracy lead to misguidance???

" And if you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah(SWT)." [6:116]
What above verse enjoins, as far as i can interpret, not to follow the majority because it may be on misguidance. Now, what would you say about Islamic point of view about democracy, by which majority elects a person who will rule over the country?
Would it be appropriate to say we must not elect the ruler, Prime minister, by this majority selection procedure? if yes, then bring forward an alternative.
Wait for a sec. What then you say about this verse: " .... And who(conducts) their affairs by mutual consultation....." [ shows the quality of a good muslim]
Suggests Shura system for electing the ruler.

i agree. because in democracy majority is authority, resultantly, gay marriages are conducted in the sacred premises of church. Infact a voting by intellectuals and intelligentsia through some drafted out method should be the proper way of choosing a head of state.

Do you know, pm is elected through enlightened and intellectual minds of parliament?
That means, so called liberal mind sets are also responsible for worst form of government;
While, other side of picture is also very obligue, asIslam is misguided, manipulated and convulated to vested and nefarious desires of individuals such as having a cursory outlook of middle eastern Levants like Al-qaeda, al-nusrah and ISIS.
We need an intermediate path, neither conventional orthodontist protagonist approach nor western liberalism.Once, Ali(r.a)quoted, a callous and brute system can work, but not sub judicious mechanism.System is not failing, but our selection of incompetent do accelerate the political erosion.
For example, its a crystal clear and self evident that Mr.Altaf is anti-pakistani, than how the people of Karachi voted for his party?

No,all across the globe, once in a book, I read heartland and inner crescent juggernath of world political settings, which stated that heartland comprises of empirial designs while crescent circumventing the heartland would be of democratic in nature.
It was fully elaborated in Ma kinder geopolitical theory of world polity.
Now a days, Bernie is running a campaign against Miss Clinton, and there is quite possibility of clintons failure.its not democracy but lure of democracy, when votes and politicians are purchased. for illustration you can take the involvement of AIPEC in American congressional election.
Any how, I believe we need strong and powerful judicial system, sorry to say in mullah type government only vested interest is promoted.like zia.

democracy is counting of heads not the weighing of wisdom.and the current democracy in Pakistan is just like dictatorship.in other words we may say that democracy in Pakistan is right divine of ignorant peoples to rule ignorantly.

Yes i agree with you Ursula. we need strong and powerful judiciary system, high court/supreme court Judges salary is around 10 lakh per month but their performance is nil.

Democracy, in itself, is not bad; in-fact, we have yet to witness the realization of a true democratic political set up. As far as Pakistan's political system is concerned, it is more of an autocratic than a democratic one. Sadly, democracy has never been allowed to function in its true nature and spirit, mainly because of the dictatorial tendencies of the political parties as well as frequent occurrences of the martial laws. The fact that our great Quaid had mentioned democracy as the most suitable form of government for Pakistan does not leave much room for further debate. However, the realization of a true democratic set-up will remain a dream too farfetched unless certain changes are to take place in the society as well as the political institutions.
