who is shaheed?

While the Lal Masjid saga is being rolled out one wonders at the language in the news, discussions, talk shows etc. by private TV channels in which they, at one hand, are reluctant to call shaheed to those who died in Lal Masjid and on the other hand they are svering the pain of the nation by showing the dead bodies of army jawans. One of the TV channels, as has been stated in a newspaper also, called Lal Masjid casualties as "those who are no more alive" in order not to mess with the confusion of "who is shaheed?"

The nation has been put in traumatic confusion as to whom call shaheed and to whom not. This is something ridiculous and shameful. I mean not even a single nation on this earth has such double standards.

i would like all members to contribute in my thread and ADD to my confusion.

regards

Bro, yes aptly said we don't know exactly who is shaheed n' who is not. N' only Allah Almighty has the authority to decide this but u know bhai what is more tragic, we can't even cry or weep at the death of either of the parties despite of the fact that both parties were muslim Pakistanis. And it is really very very much difficult to control one's self. May Allah Almighty give us the patience to bear this loss. Amin........

agreed with astute accountant and irfan.
it is the question left to be on ALLAH ... that who is shaheed and who is not.
we can only pray for them who has lost their lives in Lal Masjid saga..... no doubt its a national tragedy .

The poet has beautifully said;

yeh khub kia hay yeh zisht kia hay. jahan ki asli sarisht kia hay
bara maza ho tamam chehray agar koi benaqab ker day

The Lal Masjid incident is ofcourse a national tragedy. Allah will bless all shaheeds with peace. The very reason of humanity is killed by saying that. We are human beings, sane minds when we deal with our day to day routine, prudent and shrewed customer when we go to market, loyal and faithful servants of our personal matters and most importantly a Muslim if we do remember.

If my frineds not mind, I would dare say vociforously that by saying "
only God knows" we deteriorate our very reason of humanity. God has blessed us with thousands of blessings to judge only between and wrong. In addition the Holy Quran and Sunnah leads the way to judgement. We are strange people who claiming the double, say it tripple responsibility, of being 1-human 2-muslim 3-jack of all trades still opt to escape even from our national tragedies.

The electronic media, so far as i believe, is serving the cause of government. The print media, is however representing both sides. Those who are blamed for fundamentalism and have imported lable of Talibanization are being given space but less than that of government on papers.

Let the proposals, deals, agreements, and all of "demands" and "acceptances" be represented to public, as is being suggested by Wafaq ul Madaris, and the nation will decide who is the culprit.

I wonder what in God's name took government first to strike a deal and then to go back on the same steps and chosing to kill.

Who says blood is not cheaper. Go to Islamabad and you will find it even at no cost.

there were many endorsing that one killed by muslim can not be called as shaheed. over here we can solve the mystery and reach to the conclusion by backtracking that wether the people of lalmasjid or army were more near to islamic injunction than other.

'Shaheed', is a specific term, used in the Holy Quran and Sunnah. It has certainly a specific meaning and one should be careful before applying this term to a person and you should ascertain whether he is really qualified to be called a "Shaheed."

According to Islamic Jurisprudence, "Shaheed" is of two kinds:

Shaheed in the real sense.
Shaheed in the constructive sense.
Shaheed in the real sense is a Muslim who has been killed during "Jihad" or has been killed by any person unjustly.Such a person has two characteristics different from common people who die on their bed. Firstly, he should be buried without giving him a ritual bath. However, the prayer of the Janazah shall be offered on him and he shall also be given a proper kafin (burial shroud). Secondly, he will deserve a great reward in the Hereafter and it is hoped that Allah Almighty shall forgive his sins and admit him to Jannah. It is also stated in some of the traditions that the body of such a person remains in the grave protected from contamination or dissolution.

As compared to this kind of "Shaheed" a Shaheed in a constructive sense is a person who has been promised by the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam to get a reward of a Shaheed in the Hereafter but is not taken as Shaheed with regard to the rules of burial. It means that the dead body has to be bathed like a dead body of any other person. The Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam has included in this category of Shaheed a large number of persons such as a person who has died in a Plague or who has died in an unexpected accident, like a fire or a traffic accident or who has been drowned in the water or a woman who has died during the delivery of her child etc.

Allama Jalaluddin Suyuti, a well-known scholar of Islamic disciplines, has collected all the Hadiths relating to this kind of Shaheed and has come to the conclusion that there are thirty categories mentioned by the Holy Prophet Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam who can deserve to be called Shaheed in this sense. But in the normal course, the word "Shaheed" is applied only for the first kind. However, it is not prohibited to use the word for a person who falls in any of the categories mentioned in the second kind.

Now we can conclude from the above information about the Shaheeds in this operation.

As a pakistani what we should do....

problems have been a part of every country's history, thing which matters is solving the problem at the right time and in a right way. Sometimes small problems leads to bigger one if they are not solved in a right time. second important thing is root cause of problems must be studied and eliminated.
this period is very critical for whole nation and role of public matters here.
who is shaheed ALLAH knows better. whether an armed person died or a student, such incidents always cause loss to country. role of both sides is important. goverment must have solved this problem with negotiations. and maulana abdul rashid gazi must not have used aggressive tactics. both sides have done wrong. and it caused damage to our integrity.
as a pakistani we must always discourage such elements who cause any inbalance and voilence in the country. there is no restriction to any group in PAKISTAN to come in government. if such group have much popularity in public he can use the govt to bring islamic laws and islamic code of conduct.
so why we are usin any third way which could give no fruitful results.

Devoid of veiwing corpse of Maulana Rasheed Ghazi, We couldn`t come on decisive answer. Govt pretends to the funeral of Maulana Rasheed though he is still alived OR not but who is the evidence. Question sticks on, why media has no access to his corpse. I guess, It was deliberated plan to reveal illusive image of madrasa. Both maulanas intend to be agents of high hands.

They protest for advocacy of Islamic rules in the country but their last statement , backing out from intention, was truly worst. If he deserves to be cited for bravery then what would you call his abortive attempts to abscond from conflict.

Nothing is hidden from Allah Pak. He will rightly give the rewards. We fail to grasp the actual scenario. In the light of an adage ; "Pray when something excess of your hands and persist when something capable to be done by your hands. On this matter, We have nothing to expect for lucrative justification.
