In the Korean war, US supported what is currently South Korea. South Korea and US has mutual defense assistance treaty. On the other hand, North Korea is a nuclear power now and has the potential to destroy South Korea. US considers North Korean acquisition of nuclear weapons a threat to its core ally is thus in the favor of regime change in North Korea. North Korea is also ally of China and Russia. For these reasons North Korea hate USA.
