Is it a good practice if I study some topics from the internet instead of books? as internet provides latest knowledge whereas the book might state some old facts

Yes you can study from internet. There were some aspirants who just studies from internet and secured good positions. I think there was a person named Bilal. He studied mainly from online sources and he got inducted in PAS.
