Default extenstion in Joining

I have been recommended by FPSC to join a federal department but due to a personal issue, I am unable to join the department at the moment and want to join it in the future after 6 months. Can someone guide me is it possible to request for late/delayed joining. If yes, kindly guide me what is the rule on which I can request for deleted joining. help in this will be highly appreciated. Thank you
