Here, there and everywhere, CONFUSION!
Just now ( on Chand Raat ) I came back home from a long journey on public bus.
I got the news in bus. Someone announced that moon has been sighted.
I thought now everyone will cheer up. We will have the traditional congratulations and well wishes exchanged.
But guess what?
The moment it was announced in the bus. Everyone started to comment aggressively on the authenticity moon sighting.
We had two verbal fights and a number of heated discussions.
People hoped on and got off the bus at different stops but these discussions didn't stop form the start till the end of the journey.
Nobody seemed to believe on authenticity of moon sighting committee.
Some were complaining that those officials don't accept accept evidence presented to them from NWFP.
Some people were asking that why they have announced so late.
Surely moon cannot be visible so late.
Others went to the extent of accusing that those officials were actually waiting for phone call form Islamabad.
Of course, they went on saying that Islamabad is controlled form Washington.
Some opined that their sole purpose is to create more and more problems for "Ghareeb Awaam".
Others were discussing Deobandi and Brelvi differences and their role in moon sighting controversy.
At last my destination came.
When at home, I checked my inbox , my class fellow had sent me a mail.
He belongs to the group who says having Eid on different days in different countries is a "new fitna".
He was urging me to celebrate Eid festivities with Saudi-Arabia. Of course I was asked to boycott tomorrow's Eid.
I was like "Huh!".
Because only few days back, someone showed me an article published in a religious weekly newspaper (Zarb-e-Momin).
It says that moon sighting in Saudi-Arabia is not correct. The article was full of alleged mistakes.
Interestingly in the next issue, some Pakistani scholar residing in Saudi-Arabia has refuted all the accusations with lots and lots of argument.
Wow! Divided we Stand, Under One Flag!
Does any of it surprise you?

Answer my simple question. Those who believe in celebrating Eid with Saudi Arabia, why dont they offer their Maghrib prayer when sun sets in Saudi Arabia?

Acidity
Just now my friend called from Kambar ( Larkana ).
He told me that some ulemas have announced there that tomorrow is no eid.
They were announcing on loud speakers from mosques.
They even mounted loud speakers on hired Suzuki pick-ups to spread this message of unity among Muslims.
They kept on urging Muslims to fast tomorrow (1st October), for more than an hour in my friends area.
Impressed?? Aren't you?
Advantages are obvious.
Now, even the highly qualified members of my friend's family, are divided.
His sister and brother in law will celebrate Eid on Thursday.
While my friend and his father will go to prayers tomorrow.
Really Impressive!
All we humble beings can do is to pray to Allah for ...
Now there will be a disagreement on what should we pray for.
Pardon me, if I am being too sarcastic.

You cannot make a comparison between the sun and the moon. Sun is stationary where as moon revolves which makes a difference.
