Blackwater: An American Black Eye

September 26, 2007
by Robert W. Barker

|
In 2003 I met a gentleman from Orlando, Florida - a former Marine that was a Desert Strom veteran. He told me he now worked for Blackwater in Iraq doing security work, and I wondered, "what could that be?"

In the past, the United States frowned on the use of paid mercenaries except in extreme clandestine operations. Today, they are a major factor in the Iraq war, and the privatization of all facets of it have turned war into a profit-seeking enterprise. Private construction firms, oil contractors, and general military support groups have been given new powers and responsibilities in the Iraq conflict.

The strongest among these mercenaries is Blackwater USA - mostly former American military hired as protection for diplomats and other personal. Trained and organized on the 6000 acre facility in North Carolina, Blackwater USA has become the strongest and most feared military force in Iraq.

This is the military organization "founded by ultra-right-wing Christian conservatives." And, at least 90% of its revenue comes from government contracts; two-thirds of which are no-bid contracts.

The first time most Americans became aware of Blackwater was the Fallujah incident where insurgents killed four "civilian contractors" and their bodies were hung on a bridge.

The sad incident was initially reported as if they were construction workers or civilian tech support, but further investigation proved they were mercenaries working for the U.S. Personally, I was shocked that the United States was hiring mercenaries in Iraq. I had already realized that Cheney-Bush were into privatizing everything in our government, but this one caught me off guard.

The later, official explanation for this incident was that these heavily armed mercenaries were in Fallujah to "protect food shipments." Yet, that day, there were no "food shipments" anywhere near the area. The Marines apparently traveled door-to-door arresting random men for interrogation. Therefore, there has been great speculation in Fallujah that these commandos were on a mission to capture or assassinate people fingered as part of the resistance. Obviously, such a mission had nothing to do with food supplies.

They were ambushed and killed, and their mutilated bodies were hung on a bridge crossing the Tigress River. The nation was shocked, and the Blackwater USA was mainstream news. When questioned concerning this operation, Blackwater refused to comment, and later claimed they were there for security for diplomats and guards for such things as food supplies, not for fighting or assassinating - as that would be against the Geneva Convention.

In August 2003, Blackwater was awarded a $21 million contract to provide security guards and two helicopters for Paul Bremer III, head of the U.S. occupation in Iraq.

Increasingly, the major task of Blackwater has been deploying its own mercenary army-- recruited from elite U.S. military forces (predominantly from Navy Seals and Marine's), SWAT police forces, and international soldiers of fortune.

Recently, it started training former Chilean commandos--some of whom served under the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet, for use in Iraq.

In the eyes of the Neo Cons and the Pentagon, there are many advantages to hiring mercenaries. The U.S. Pentagon does not count mercenaries as their soldiers, and it does not include dead mercenaries as military casualties. Therefore, the deployment of mercenaries means the Pentagon can downplay the size of its own involvement.

Also, the U.S. government is involved in increasing numbers of "under the radar" interventions and mini-wars all over the world. Using mercenaries to carry out these Blackwater ops enables the U.S. government to retain "plausible deniability" in the violation of sovereignty and the commitment of atrocities.

Another advantage is massive profit and corruption for the military officer corps. Military experts abandon the government payroll--yet use their in-house contacts to win massive war contracts for the same operations of logistics, training, and special operations they were already involved in. They become millionaires while continuing their former military assignments "in the private sector" and conduct these ops far outside the usual budgetary and political scrutiny.

In an American empire that loves private "capitalism" and profit, huge sections of the global machinery of killing is increasingly slipping into corporate hands. And this business of bellum is excellent. As time has gone on, more and more complaints have risen to the surface detailing Blackwater atrocities and crimes. Fear of the mercenary forces is rampant in Baghdad and other Iraqi cities. Incidents of murder, kidnapping, and general havoc have surfaced over the last four years, and little has been done about it.

Iraqi officials repeatedly complained to U.S. officials about Blackwater USA's alleged involvement in the deaths of innocent Iraqis, yet the Americans took little action to regulate the private security firm until 11 Iraqis were shot dead last Sunday. Previous to that episode, U.S. officials were made aware in high-level meetings and formal memorandums of Blackwater's alleged transgressions, yet nothing happened. They included six violent incidents this year - all allegedly involving the North Carolina firm - that left a total of at least 10 Iraqis dead. And this was just the surface.

The current escalating controversy stems from allegations that Blackwater personnel opened fire and killed innocent civilians in Iraq without defensible provocation. The Iraq government for the moment has banned the firm from further operations in the country.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice publicly apologized for the strange incident, yet otherwise, the Bush administration is reacting with diplomatic doublespeak, stressing private contractors do not readily fall under U.S. or Iraqi jurisdiction. Early in the American occupation of Iraq, a directive was given insulating American personnel from prosecution in Iraqi courts. How convenient.

While the Bush Administration screams for the immediate disbanding of what it has called "private" and "illegal" militias in Lebanon and Iraq, the same administration is spending hundreds of millions of dollars into its own global private mercenary army. The highly secretive program, which spans at least twenty-seven countries, has been a great profit windfall for the heavily Republican-connected firm in particular: Blackwater USA.

Government records recently exposed by "The Nation" reveal that the Bush Administration has paid Blackwater more than $320 million since June 2004 to provide "diplomatic security" globally. The massive contract is the largest known to have been awarded to Blackwater to date, and reveals how the Administration has elevated a small North Carolina security firm into a major profiteer in the "war on terror." Furthermore, we see more corruption alleged to have been Blackwater's doings.

On September 22nd, 2007, Federal prosecutors exposed that an investigation was underway pertaining to Blackwater employees illegally smuggling weapons into Iraq that were later possibly transferred to the PKK, a Kurdish nationalist group. This group was designated a terrorist organization by the U. S. State Department. The investigation is being conducted by North Carolina U.S. Attorney's Office with aid from auditors of the Defense and State departments. Officials claim that there is enough mounting evidence to file charges as was reported to The Associated Press on September 22nd.

A few years ago, Bush/Cheney made it imperative that if American personnel to be deployed in Iraq they would be granted "immunity from prosecution." Now we understand what he was able to atain, and that is- Protection for American private armies to engage in indiscriminate killings!

As this bellum rolls on and we see the conflict for what it really is, it becomes apparent that we are backing a right wing military group that works for a small number of corporate ventures and war profiteers - and the rest of us are victims of the privatization of public duty.

Blackwater, and those that do this type work, are outside the conventions of civility, and as such have been implicated in many atrocities in Iraq. But the globe sees this as an American black eye and we are the war-mongering people turning lose wild mercenaries on the world.

Profits from war have filled the coffers of the far right stemming from this bellum of no plausible base or reason, while the reputation and hate grow stronger towards the America people - increasing the possibility of further terror and the terror is deemed almost justifiable to the rest of the shocked world

Blackwater - Legalized Killers

Blackwater. If you are not familiar with the word, you are about to be enlightened. Blackwater USA is the world’s largest private mercenary army with over 20,000 soldiers and its own air force. You may not have been aware that the Unites States employs mercenaries, well, now you know. It’s not enough that we spend billions of dollars on the military; we must also spend money on employing hired killers to handle our business on American soil as well as abroad. The government does not have enough money to provide adequate healthcare to the elderly or small children, but there is no shortage of funds when it comes to putting fire-power in middle-eastern countries or in the streets or New Orleans.

Blackwater got its start in 1996 as a private military training facility in the wilderness of North Carolina. Visionary executives, all of them former Navy Seals or other Elite Special Forces people, envisioned it as a project that would take advantage of the anticipated government outsourcing (why the United States government would need to outsource is beyond me). It is now a decade later, Blackwater has become the most powerful mercenary firm in the world. It has 20,000 soldiers on the ready, the world’s largest private military base, and a fleet of twenty aircraft, including helicopter gunships. It’s become nothing short of the Praetorian Guard for the Bush administration’s so-called global war on terror. And it’s headed by a very rightwing Christian activist, ex-Navy Seal named Erik Prince, whose family was one of the major bankrollers of the Republican Revolution of the 1990s. Prince, himself, is a significant financial contributor of President Bush and his allies.
Currently Blackwater protects the top US officials in Iraq and yet we know almost nothing about the firm’s quasi-military operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and inside the US.
I’m not even comfortable typing the word “protects” in the same sentence with Blackwater; It’s hard to see them as protectors when in 2006 they forced our very own U.S. soldiers out of a Humvee on a street in Baghdad's Green Zone, took their weapons and forced them down on the ground. If that seems distant to you, let me bring it closer to home. During the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, Blackwater agents were sent to New Orleans to “assist” the homeland security effort. They were given the authority to make arrests and use force as the deemed necessary. Blackwater agents were seen taking over a local citizen’s apartment in the area of St. James and Bourbon Street; they tossed the individuals personal belongings to the street as they help up gold Louisiana law enforcement badges.

In a horrific incident last month, Blackwater agents killed 17 civilians in Baghdad. I can not fathom why we (United States) allow them to continue to operate after the blood of innocent people was shed in such a terrible manner. News sources have reported that the heads of some of the civilians were completely blown off, and some of the bodies were burned beyond recognition. We still continue to throw money at this group of killers. Back in 2001, Blackwater had less than $1 million worth of government business. Since then, the company has received more than $1 billion in U.S. taxpayer funds, including a huge no-bid contract with the State Department. Just recently they received a contract worth up to 92 million dollars from the Department of Defense amid hard questions about their involvement in two separate violent incidents in Iraq. The Iraqi government announced that it had revoked Blackwater's license to operate in their country, yet the U.S. continues to support them, looks to me like we have resorted to hiring killers to take care of those people we want removed.

If we turn a deaf ear or a blind eye to what Blackwater has done and is doing in Iraq, we are opening ourselves up to having those same acts committed against us at home, remember the aftermath of Katrina??

yes its true. print and electronic media has high lightened the issue but what is the use of it if our administration doesn't take any serious action to stop the american dogs.

infact they are taking dollars and selling the sovereignty and people of Pakistan.

this is a notorious agency of the world which is known for abduction, target killing and promoting terror activities and causing disruption in other states for american interests and now they are creeping into our country.

Regards,

This article below is shocking and a Must Read!

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Three weeks ago a group of concerned Pakistani citizens in Peshawar wrote to the federal interior ministry to complain about the suspicious activities of a group of shadowy Americans in a rented house in their neighborhood, the upscale University Town area of Peshawar.

A NGO calling itself Creative Associates International, Inc. leased the house. CAII, as it is known by its acronym, is a Washington DC-based private firm. According to its Web site, the company describes itself as “a privately-owned non-governmental organization that addresses urgent challenges facing societies today … Creative views change as an opportunity to improve, transform and renew …”

The description makes no sense. It is more or less a perfect cover for the American NGO’s real work: espionage.

The incorporated NGO is more of a humanitarian front that alternates sometimes for undercover US intelligence operations in critical regions, including Angola, Sri Lanka, Iraq, Gaza, and Pakistan. Of the 36 new job openings, the company’s Web site shows that half of them are in Pakistan today. Pakistan is also at the heart of the now combined desperate effort by the White House-military-CIA to avert a looming American defeat in Afghanistan by shifting the war to its next-door neighbor.

In Peshawar, CAII, opened an office to work on projects in the nearby tribal agencies of Pakistan. All of these projects, interestingly, are linked to the US government. CAII’s other projects outside Pakistan are also linked to the US government. In short, this NGO is not an NGO. It is closely linked to the US government.

In Peshawar, CAII told Pakistani authorities it needed to hire security guards for protection. The security guards, it turns out, were none other than Blackwater’s military-trained hired guns. They were used the CAII cover to conduct a range of covert activities in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province.

The infamous Blackwater private security firm operates as an extension of the US military and CIA, taking care of dirty jobs that the US government cannot associate itself with in faraway strategic places. Blackwater is anything but a security firm. It is a mercenary army of several thousand hired soldiers.

Pakistani security officials apparently became alarmed by reports that Blackwater was operating from the office of CAII on Chinar Road, University Town in Peshawar. The man in charge of the office, allegedly an American by the name of Craig Davis according to a report in Jang, Pakistan’s largest Urdu language daily, was arrested and accused of establishing contacts with ‘the enemies of Pakistan’ in areas adjoining Afghanistan. His visa has been cancelled, the office sealed, and Mr. Davis reportedly expelled back to the United States.

It is not clear when Mr. Davis was deported and whether there are other members of the staff expelled along with him. When I contacted the US Embassy over the weekend, spokesman Richard Snelsire’s first reaction was, “No embassy official has been deported.” This defensive answer is similar to the guilt-induced reactions of US embassy staffers in Baghdad and Kabul at the presence of mercenaries working for US military and CIA.

I said to Mr. Snelsire that I did not ask about an embassy official being expelled. He said he heard these reports and ‘checked around’ with the embassy officials but no one knew about this. “It’s baseless.”

So I asked him, “Is Blackwater operating in Pakistan, in Peshawar?”

“Not to my knowledge.” Fair enough. The US embassies in Baghdad and Kabul never acknowledged Blackwater’s operations in Iraq and Afghanistan either. This is part of low-level frictions between the diplomats at the US Department of State and those in Pentagon and CIA. The people at State have reportedly made it clear they will not acknowledge or accept responsibility for the activities of special operations agents operating in friendly countries without the knowledge of those countries and in violation of their sovereignty. Reports have suggested that sometimes even the US ambassador is unaware of what his government’s mercenaries do in a target country.

Official Pakistani sources are yet to confirm if one or more US citizens were expelled recently. The government is also reluctant in making public whatever evidence there might be about Blackwater operations inside Pakistan. But it is clear that something unusual was happening in the Peshawar office of an American NGO. There is also strong suspicion that Blackwater was operating from the said office.

There are other things happening in Pakistan that are linked to the Americans and that increase the chances of Blackwater’s presence here.

These include:

1. One of the largest US embassies – or military and intelligence command outposts – in the world is being built in Islamabad as I write this at a cost of approximately one billion US dollars. This is the biggest sign of an expansion in US meddling in Pakistan and a desire to use this country as a base for regional operations. Interestingly, US covert meddling inside Pakistan and nearby countries is already taking place, including in Russia’s backyard, in Iran, and in China’s Xinjiang.

2. A large number of retired Pakistani military officers, academics and even journalists have been quietly recruited at generous compensations by several US government agencies. These influential Pakistanis are supposed to provide information, analysis, contacts and help in pleading the case for US interests in the Pakistani media, in subtle ways. Pakistanis would be surprised that some prominent names well known to television audiences are in this list.

3. CIA and possibly Blackwater have established a network of informers in the tribal belt and Balochistan; there have also been reports of non-Pakistanis sighted close to sensitive military areas in the country. Considering the intensity and frequency of terrorist acts inside Pakistan in the past four years, there is every possibility that all sorts of saboteurs are having a field day in Pakistan.

4. Members of separatist and ethnic political parties have been cultivated by various US government agencies and quietly taken for visits to Washington and the CENTCOM offices in Florida.

The possibility of the existence of mercenary activities in Pakistan is strengthened by the following events:

5. Pakistani officials have in recent months collected piles of evidence that suggests that terrorists wreaking havoc inside Pakistan have been and continue to receive state of the art weapons and a continuous supply of money and trainers from unknown but highly organized sources inside Afghanistan. A significant number of these weapons is of American and Israeli manufacture. Indians have also been known to supply third-party weapons to terrorists inside Pakistan.

6. Some Pakistani intelligence analysts have stumbled on circumstantial evidence that links the CIA to anti-Pakistan terror activities that may not be in the knowledge of all departments of the US government. One thing is for sure, that CIA’s operations in Afghanistan are in the hands of dangerous elements that are prone to rogue-ish behavior.

7. In May, a US woman diplomat was caught arranging a quiet [read 'secret'] meeting between a low-level Indian diplomat and several senior Pakistani government officials. An address in Islamabad – 152 Margalla Road – was identified as a venue where the secret meeting took place. The American diplomat in question knew there was no chance the Indian would get to meet the Pakistanis in normal circumstances. Nor was it possible to do this during a high visibility event. After the incident, Pakistan Foreign Office issued a terse statement warning all government officials to refrain from such direct contact with foreign diplomats in unofficial settings without prior intimation to their departments.

8. Pakistani suspicions about American foul play inside Pakistan are not new. On July 12, 2008 in a secret meeting in Rawalpindi between military and intelligence officials from the two countries these concerns were openly aired. The Americans accused ISI of maintain contacts with the Afghan Taliban. The Pakistani answer was that normal low-level contacts are maintained with all parties in the area. NATO and the Kabul regime were doing the same thing in Afghanistan. In return, the Pakistanis laid out evidence, including photographs, showing known terrorists meeting Indian and pro-US Kabul regime officials. Was the United States supporting these anti-Pakistan activities is the question that was posed to the US military and CIA.

9. Further back into history, in 1978 the ISI broke a spy ring made up of Pakistani technicians working for the nascent Pakistani nuclear program who were recruited by CIA. Pakistan chose not to raise the issue publicly but did so privately at the highest level in Washington.

Now there are reports that the Zardari-Gilani government is consulting Pakistan’s Naval headquarters on a proposal to construct a US navy base on the coast of Balochistan. When things have reached this level of American meddling in Pakistan, Blackwater seems like a small issue. Some Pakistani analysts are of the view that elements within the Pakistani security establishment need to be very careful about where they intend to draw the red line for CIA operations in and around Pakistan.

Uncensored: Public views on Why Blackwater is Present in Pakistan?

Disclaimer: Following views are held by the respondent of the "Survey: Why Blackwater is present is Islamabad and Peshawar?" and not necessarily held by the Critic Magazine Team.

Following are some of the selected views on how Pakistani Public has responded to the presence of Blackwater in Pakistan. Its interesting to see that an overwhelming majority is against their presence and considers them a threat for Pakistan's sovereignty for a varity of reasons. If you haven't yet taken part in this survey as yet then click on the following link to participate.

Why Blackwater (Xe) is present is Islamabad, Peshawar?..

Along with demographics (age group, education, occupation and location), following are some of the interesting answers received against the Question: Please explain in few words why the US is constructing its world's largest embassy in Islamabad?

· Only Allah knows. But I can air my views of its effects only. Pakistan's sovereignty has received another blow. Calling us ****** is derogatory...it is like calling US as USRael. There shall b more bloodshed because such a big US presence will b the proverbial red rag for the Taliban bull. V doesn’t need them or their money. Let Ganja and Zardari donate their loot to the exchequer and v won't even need IMF. But v must b ready to receive at least some heavy bombardment not in FATA but closer to 'home.' · To create a ground framework in the heart of the Ummah's Fort for their nefarious plots, but not to worry, we'll Inshallah capture it after pounding them hard and turn it into our majlis e shura. We’re luring the ****** prey into the trap; let me come those bastards ) Keep up the splendid work. Allah Bless u and your Household. 18 ~ 25, Doing BS in Software Engg. · Control the Middle East Region & nine Central Asian states from ******. b. Utilize all gas and oil resources for USA /Europe. Pipe line built connecting Baku -Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipe line to Europe. c. Deny the same to China & Russia. d. Take out Pak nuclear assets. e. Bring Pakistan under Indian influence for joint Anti China front. f. Ensure safety of Israel from any nuclear threat from any Muslim state. Sustain & promote democratic set up for Pakistan's future. Nurture and grow politicians from nurseries of parliaments not dictatorship. Corrupt, dishonest and ****** rich leadership be barred through election systems. Above 45, Graduate, Self-Employed, Lahore

· Pakistan holds an important geo-strategic position in terms of proximity to the Indian market and China - the next economic super power. 2) It is always beneficial for a super power to create an 'other' and to consistently wage war against it in order to distract the local population from their actual issues. The presence of an enemy (for example, the way Pakistan does to India and vice versa), serves to unite its people and - to put it crudely - keep them on their toes. 25 ~ 35, Graduate, Employed, Karachi,

· They are trying to threat Pakistan and they want to take over our nuclear acids. Might be they have a plan to have a look on China which is very danger for the friendship between China and Pakistan, 25 ~ 35, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Lahore

· Pakistan has been a sidekick colony of the USA since the 1960s with Ayub Khan as their viceroy. Now they want to establish a fuller presence in a land which they own 250% already. The US can do what it likes in Pakistan as they own us. Our leaders and our bureaucracy and our army in particular do whatever the US likes them to do. The US protects its own interests as does everyone else. For example it is in the nation's interest to have lower food prices, but in the sugar magnate’s interest to have higher prices. So we have higher prices. If we did what was in Pakistan's interest, the sugar magnates would be in jail. This goes for all other sectors as well. Blackwater is just one more agency by which the US will employ locals and other mercenaries. The British practiced this and now the US does it. Above 45, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Karachi

· Neither have we known our history, if we know, then we give a dam to think over it. These are their old tactics to first completely suck the blood of their target / victim and then attack when the opponent becomes defenseless. It’s part of their plan to bring Pakistan under their complete control. I had researched on it two years back (2007) and was able to get their containers shipment records coming into Pakistan. I knew what they did in Iraq and was really upset. I send this information to every single TV Channel, Newspaper but in the end nothing happens, not even a small news clipping appeared anywhere. The problem with our media is that they try to exploit issues and highlight only those problems which we own, the problems and plans our enemies are making and implementing, our media has nothing to do with it... I start blogging very late, here... is the link where I had put info about Blackwater. American Secret Army Blackwater Operational in Pakistan Truth 4 Justice. 25 ~ 35, Graduate, Employed

· Simple!! To threat china and show Chinese government that how well America has gripped Pakistan, there allayed in Asia and also show them that Pakistani government at present is nothing but bloody proxies of America. The second reason is that they want their presence to be more impactful so that they can accelerate their policies in subcontinent with greater precision. 18 ~ 25, Graduate, Student, Karachi

· Embassies can be used as fronts for foreign intelligence agencies to penetrate into any nation. US embassies have a long history of running intelligence activities via their embassies in foreign nations. This can be seen in many countries especially Latin American ones. The purpose of the embassy in Islamabad is to conduct intelligence operations and to exercise a great level of influence over the politics of Pakistan and forward their interests in the country. The embassy is also meant destabilize Pakistan. 18 ~ 25, Collage Student or below, Student

· All the three bullying countries are together to capture Pakistan's nuke, to create Baluchistan and to spread nationwide terrorism in Pakistan. They need a base to keep a check of China's economic growth. They need a base where they can ensure that even Iran is not far away from them. Pakistan offers the best geographical location as well as politicians who can serve their purpose at the cost of national interests. It’s the high time that all the public should come on streets and before they come into the Pakistan in a large no and start removing people from their way, we have to stop their arrival, questions our politicians and even armed forces and intelligence agencies why they are silent and the responsible should be hanged but that could be done on later stage. STOP THEIR ARRIVAL AND EXPANSION OF US EMBASSY IMMEDIATELY. 18 ~ 25, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Karachi

· US wants to retain in Pakistan due to China.....As we all know that china is emerging power and US is declining day by day....so US is just making its last effort to enforce pressure from the base camp i.e. Pakistan. US want to use Pakistan to control the region and keep an eye on China and Pakistan. At worst cases, US want to take over Pakistani nukes. 25 ~ 35, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Islamabad / Rawalpindi

· US want our Nukes. We are the strongest Muslim country military wise and they fear that if there is a call of Jihad by the prominent, reliable and honorable religious personnel’s of Muslim world, Pakistani will be the first to stand for that. Pls Pakistanis and all other Muslims, erase Ur differences and grievances as soon as possible. 25 ~ 35, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Karachi

· The ultimate aim is to build the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) Pipeline for bringing oil/Gas to Arabian Sea at any cost, like they built Panama Canal by splitting Panama from Columbia at the cost of many lives as well. The CORPORATIONS under the New World Order don’t give a damn and for them Money being their GOD, “POOR PEOPLE ARE EXPENDABLE” by labeling them Terrorists. Pakistani Media folks have sold their soul and conscience to the DEVIL for the sake of MONEY without any other consideration, just like the judge sentencing Mir Amal Kansi said that “they will even sell their mother for a thousand dollars.” Above 45, Retired, USA

· It’s a new East India Company to slowly recruit naive and corrupt Pakistanis to act as Mir JAffars and Mir sadiqs to weaken Pakistanis defense and get hold of its nukes. Break our resolve of free Pakistan by spreading hopelessness by orchestrating false alarms and manipulating dramas like sugar crises, economic worries, supporting BLA and TTP. By target killing our resistance leaders like Imran khan, Zaid hamid and Shireen mazari, who have the courage and charisma to lead us out of this quagmire. There is a dire need to raise awareness amongst the general masses. to look beyond the day to day affairs and commit to the cause of saving Pakistan from this feudal politicians/military generals/Taliban narrow-minded religious elite ruling Pakistan since independence. We should work for inclusion of an option "NONE OF THE ABOVE" in the next ballot to reject the major political class and open doors for a peaceful change. A new TV channel or an existing one should be made a medium for change by giving alternative thought to the country as opposed to what this GEO.....type channels are dishing out to the masses. 25 ~ 35, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Islamabad / Rawalpindi

· It wants to have full control on PAKISTAN govt AND army. It will use this embassy to help denuclearize PAKISTAN. It will hire people to destabilize Pakistan; will use people to do bomb blasts etc. Will try to construct a full scale base so that it old keeps on eye in his region more efficiently, especially about China. Pakistan Army should take the matter seriously and should take all measures to stop these ****** activities. 25 ~ 35, PhD, Student

· Normally embassy's role in any country into promotes good and healthy elation with that country and respect the soviernty of that country. Unfortunately Pakistan has largely gone into different under hand deals and established an impression that we are mercenaries and any one uses us at a price. The fault is our side and we have lost the confidence in the eyes of the American at large. We do not protest, we do not even put across our genuine grievances. More the weakness a nation demonstrates bigger the possibility of protective actions and under hand dealings. If it is true that it is in the benefit of the West to destabilize Pakistan and take over the Nuke establishment, the approach is very clear. The outfit of the US embassy and involving black water could be the achieving the goal. I am more concern that why our political and other establishment is not sensitive on this matter. My approach to this problem cloud is two pron. One, the competent authorities in Pakistan should independently examine the concerns related to Embassy and black water and before it is too late address on the level it is required to be dealt. I am sure the international community particularly China would not allow to have such vested interest in Pakistan. But again Pakistan has to move as per seriousness of the problem. Second, in my opinion American as a nation is a one of the finest people and if the facts are brought up on the surface and they are taken in confidence thing would be different. It is the will that matters, complains and suspicions would not take us anywhere. Qayum, Above 45, Graduate, Self-Employed, Karachi

· To overcome Pakistani government in every possible means. To closely watch and command their puppets. To directly interfere in diplomatic and internal affairs of Pakistan. To hire Pakistanis to brainwash them. To gather an indirect official base for the US. I must pray that Allah give sense to our naive politicians and public dreaming of democracy and may provide Pak Mujahedeen’s to command the whole Globe Muslims. But this is only possible when our idiot politician figures are removed or executed if needed and replaced by stubborn ideological and man of principle leader who will be withstand by his faith only. 18 ~ 25, Graduate, Employed, Islamabad / Rawalpindi

· I think it is part of an imperialist move by the US to have control over the whole world, actually. I think that the U.S. will plan to do what it has always done- create an "embassy", get involved in the politics and, through any means possible, ensure that the leaders are picked who will bend to U.S. designs- and eventually homogenize the land by Westernizing it. The indigenous population who try to keep up the old ways and live unfettered will be branded as "dangerous insurgents", which the U.S. will be 'obliged' to help get rid of, under the guise of protecting the people and the usual lie of "spreading Democracy" 35 ~ 45, some college, self learner/researcher., Mother, western U.S,

· They want to stay in Afghanistan for long time and Pakistan is their base. They want to make Pakistan a weaker country such that it does not have Nukes and a subservient to India. I wonder why our Army and ISI allowed such people to enter into Pakistan. If we suppose that our Political Government have some other agenda or they have made promises to US to get GOV, why does our army is silent? What happened to Nawaz Sharif.? Why our Opposition Parties does is silent. 35 ~ 45, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Islamabad / Rawalpindi

· Because they are really afraid of Pakistan as an atomic country in the Muslim world. And they are trying to promote the aims to capture and destabilize Pakistan of a Trica of USA, Israel and India. They stopped India to work against Pakistan, because they (US) will do Indian Job through Afghanistan and residing inside Pakistan. The Main idea to expand US Embassy in Islamabad is to hijack Pakistan's Nuclear Setup, because while their marines, black water and complete army exist in Islamabad, they can do that job easily. Baluchistan is definite their prime target for it separation from Pakistan. They are also planning to provide independence to tribal areas FATA by Pakistan's government. And they want to reduce Pakistan in Punjab Only. 25 ~ 35, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Faisalabad

· To conquer Pakistan is not an issue for Americans; they have a better way to govern Pakistan by making slaves the Pakistani leadership/government. Already, they are behaving us like their colony! They are constructing the largest embassy at ISD is to establish an armed head quarter here to destabilizes China, Iran and other powers! The recent reaction of China is an example to support my arguments!. 25 ~ 35, M Phil, Self-Employed, Islamabad / Rawalpindi,

· Because like every big empire that is about to crumble on its own weight, and like most of those big empires of the past, US cannot see anyone else's point of view but their own at the moment. Their moments of reflection shall come, only when it's too late alas. And their lens right now doesn't let them see the mess they have and are still creating in the world. It's all about the madness of US hegemony at the moment. 25 ~ 35, PhD, near completion of my PhD at Lums, Lahore

· We are such a nation that is aware of everything but still want the situation come to us. GREAT LEADERS OF THE GREAT NATION. This is all the planning for the end of time, we know there is going to be a third world war and that is going to destroy almost 40% of the world's population. Since America is now in a state where it will default economically at anytime, for its survival this war is now a game of life and death. 35 ~ 45, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Karachi

· To find out the actual location of our nuclear assets and implement the plan to destruct them within the shortest possible time. Media should have come up with proper agitation and divulge the names of our politicians who contributed to make this a mature deal and have posed a serious threat to our sovereignty.25 ~ 35, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Karachi

· In sub continent History repeats itself few hundred years ago west takeover sub continent in the form of East India Company. Black water is exactly the same objectives as East India Co has in the past. Our ancient rulers were also involved in their respective aiyashees as our present rulers doing now. 25 ~ 35, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Karachi

· The question here is that how much has Zardari sold out to the US. With practically everything available on the negotiating table and Zardari a willing negotiator - it is he who must be held accountable - these Americans are making use of a situation - Nukes and what not have in my opinion dead and gone, Blackwater is more like a visionary force - with a free hand to do as it wants. 35 ~ 45, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Self-Employed, Karachi

· Because Pakistan is a slave state and USA wants to show this symbolically too. Secondly, they want to run Pakistan from that embassy with our political setup being a cover-up for naive people. Xe and its founders are also related to ancient orders from crusades which used to slaughter Muslims. These people are Christian extremists supported by the Vatican. A little research about Sovereign Military Order of Malta reveals allot about such orders. 25 ~ 35, Graduate, Employed, Karachi

· Us is in Endeavour of constructing world largest embassy with a view to achieve her hegemonic designs in Pakistan. Pakistan has become a satellite state as well as dependency of USA. Us embassy will become a mini fortress in which modern satellite gadgetry will be put in place to monitor Pakistani nukes and virtually take over them. We have given everything without any fought to Americans what Iraqis haven’t given so after fight....what a shame for us! We are being ruled by a former prisoner- Mr. Zardari. What good can we expect from such a puppet government???Disgusting..........extended us embassy will be a big hurdle for Pakistani military if it wants to take over Islamabad at any stage. US marines in the capital will present good resistance against any "unfavorable coup” by Pakistani military. A big game plan........ 35 ~ 45, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Lahore

· From the beginning they are against our nuclear power, but for that they did nothing, now they try to kill most intelligent peoples & curious in the country so that they can create reason that Pakistani nuclear sites are not in safe hand so we want to protect them. Another thing that they frightened with Iran, to overcome on Iran activities they want to stay in Pakistan. 18 ~ 25, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Student, Lahore

· The Word "Embassy" is not suitable for it. It is an American fort within our capital, where American marines fly in and out without any fear, without registration or any type immigration formalities. I think they are very worried about Pakistani people, their economic condition etc. so the American want to build a mini "White house" inside that fort and will ask their VP to sit there and look after for the welfare of Pakistan as they are doing for the Iraq...... Our leach like government personal are busy sucking blood out of leftovers our nation's wealth.......... with their eyes shut and minds in deep sleep. It is now or never wake up it is a nightmare which is actually being played around us. Above 45, Graduate, Employed, Islamabad / Rawalpindi

· America is not Pakistan's ally. It wants what it wants which seem to be Pakistan's nukes. It will always side with India no matter how right we are. And destabilizing us is the easiest way to gain access to our nuclear assets. Also the Afghan war chapter is far from over. It wants to stick there till it retrieves whatever it wants from Pakistan. It’s unfortunate that as the 5th largest country according to population, we haven’t been able to harness this strength. If educated properly, this large mass of illiterate people can be an asset to this nation let alone the world. We all have to change ourselves for the better rather than hoping for change from the politicians or the military. Also praying for change is the first step as it carries the hope for a better future. Stop looking for others to solve your problems and make efforts on your own. We are a young nation with a young population. There's no reason, if we put in the effort, that change won’t happen. Trust in the Almighty and make your own effort to change your environment for the better. 25 ~ 35, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Employed, Karachi

· They have got their secret plans to destabilize our country and takeover its nukes as they see us a threat against Israel and Jews. Shame on pppp, zardari and pm gilani. The silence of pml n shows they have understood a shameful fact that the way of presidency and parliament goes through America rather through the hearts of this nation. Remember one thing a day will come when those who are up will be down, and only one to rule in this world will be Muslims. So, get ready Jews. . . . 18 ~ 25, MSC/MBA/MS/CA/MA etc, Student, Lahore

· I will say it’s not an embassy, it’s a BASE with full of technology, which they'll use against us, PAKISTAN is only Muslim country with nuclear, best army, best AIR FORCE. PAKISTAN can be a HEAD of Muslim UMMAH, they are afraid of this, they are trying to destroy us in a very soft way, and sorry to say that our own people are giving help to them, I remember, we were nation but now we are divided, ALLAH will help us to make nation again, INSHA ALLAH will be kher. 35 ~ 45, Graduate, Self-Employed, Karachi

· Due to strategic position of Pakistan, USA was in fact in need of a place of strategic importance from where they can control and check the ever growing China's and Indian economy - just like they did during Shahanshah-e-Iran era from Tehran to control Communist Soviet Union role in South Asian Countries and Middle Eastern Countries. Exclamation Black Water in Pakistan!

AOA
Its really very Alarming for all of us.

Black Water is in Pakistan, and what it stands for was first divulged by TPS back in October 2008. It is world’s biggest, richest, deadliest and most powerful mercenary army, which operates from United States of America and even the world’s sole super power hasn’t got any tangible control over this army, though Black Water always acts as sidekick for the US armies around the globe.

Black Water hires retired army-men and villains and criminals from around the world. Especially they target the poor countries in Asia and Africa for the fodder. They act as NGOs and welfare organization in poor countries and recruit people in the name of sending them to the land of dreams; the USA. They also reach first to the areas where earthquakes and floods strike, and pickup the strong helpless men and give them “jobs.”

Black Water now operates under the name of “Xe”. After Black Water name became so notorious with respect to the Iraq war, the company president Gary Jackson changed the name. Black Water or Xe is based in the U.S. state of North Carolina, Xe operates a tactical training facility which the company claims is the world’s largest, and at which the company trains more than 40,000 people a year, mostly from U.S. or foreign military and police services. The training consists of military offensive and defensive operations, as well as smaller scale personal security. That’s only a cover, and the workings of this covert organization comprises of all the dirty and murderous acts.

Iraq is just one example. Black Water recruited the Iraqi men and used them against the Iraqi people. Iraqis are very well of this evil outfit and in Fluja city they killed the Black Water personnel who were working in the garb of food contractors and hung their corpses along with the banks of Euphrates. Now the media in Pakistan is reporting that Black Water has well established itself in the country, especially in the Peshawar and Islamabad.

Blackwater’s primary training facility, located on 7,000 acres (28 km2) in northeastern North Carolina, comprises several ranges; indoor, outdoor, urban reproductions; a man-made lake; and a driving track in Camden and Currituck counties. Company literature says that it is the largest training facility in the country. In November 2006 Blackwater USA announced it recently acquired an 80-acre (30 ha) facility 150 miles (240 km) west of Chicago, in Mount Carroll, Illinois to be called Blackwater North. That facility has been operational since April 2007 and serves law enforcement agencies throughout the midwest. Blackwater is also trying to open an 824-acre (3.33 km2) training facility three miles north of Potrero, a small town in rural east San Diego County, California located 45 miles (72 km) east of San Diego, for military and law enforcement training. The opening has faced heavy opposition from local residents, residents of nearby San Diego, a local Congressmember Bob Filner, and environmental and anti-war organizations. Opposition focused on a potential for wildfire increases, the proposed facility’s proximity to the Cleveland National Forest, noise pollution, and opposition to the actions of Blackwater in Iraq. In response, Brian Bonfiglio, project manager for Blackwater West, said “There will be no explosives training and no tracer ammunition. Lead bullets don’t start fires.” In October 2007, when wildfires swept through the area, Blackwater made at least three deliveries of food, water, personal hygiene products and generator fuel to 300 residents near the proposed training site, many of whom had been trapped for days without supplies. They also set up a “tent city” for evacuees. On March 7, 2008, Blackwater withdrew its application to set up a facility in San Diego County
Orya Maqbool Jan of Express News wrote in is column that University Town in Peshawar is the headquarter of Black Water in Pakistan. He also claims that Black Water people can been frequently seen in the area guarding vehicles and people, clad in black suits and black glasses. He also says that the biggest embassy of America in Islamabad having thousands of employees is just another Black Water plan. He also says that Black Water is operating in Pakistan under the cover of a NGO Creative Associates.

They are also offering approx. 1000$ a day to everyone, and why they are heiring them only because they know that, the poor and greedy people can do anything for this amount even shed the blood of their children and brothers and sisters. So THINK ABOUT THAT... AND DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH THOSE WHO ARE NEAR TO YOU

If that is true, then what exactly is the purpose and objective of Black Water in Pakistan? What they are guarding or are they planning some kind of offensive? Our politicos are dead silent over that. Our parliament is a rubber stamp, and our president is as usual on foreign trips and our premier is all-time-confused. Our opposition is luke-warm and rest of the parties are plain hopeless. The only hope against any Black Water is our security forces and the people of this country, who are ready to shed every last drop of their blood for the motherland.

We should fight against them if they are harming our Muslim Brothers and Sisters.
