We have much experience in the past with constitution. Let it too and it is too early to inquire about result. Democracy has been restored and it has completed only two years – it will take time to overcome the nightmare of 9 years.
They acting diplomatically, it is not the right time for u-turn in the policies of previous regime. So-called war on terror and allied countries will strongly oppose Pakistan. Economic, social and political backwardness for nine years (Pervez Era) – is a long period for a developing country to turn into a fail state.

@ Tabassum shabir Awan.
I cant understand how can you compare this government with the one of Musharraf. You are brave enough to make a comparison, lets get the record straight. Musharraf wanted 58-2b to survive, its not needed anymore by this government. Musharraf was afraid of the jails and parliament, current president has faced victimisation for 11 years on trumped up charges. Musharraf could not achieve the NFC award, this government did so. People in the media and the establishment malign this government beacuse its a ppp government. Thats the reason enough to criticise for them.

I completely support Mr Tabassum Shabbir Awan's viewpoint.
Yesterday the 'parties struck the accord on 18th amendment' and fuel prices were jacked up simultaneously. Also the package is a half backed product as the controversial so called Islamic amendments to the constitution by General Zia are not touched. Perhaps they are too sacred for the parliamentary committee. Nevertheless, it is a good omen for democracy but ordinary citizens have nothing to gain by this so called democratic regime's performance and amendments to the constitution. cheers, floydian

Yeah definitely the credit goes to this government for this 18th constitutional amendment and some other reforms taken, but don't you think it is all are a part of apt political stretegies?
I am not in the favour of any government, but the thing is that all such stuff is just to paper over the dismal economic and institutional downfall in our country. it seems as a play is performed on front scene to divert the attention of public from their paramount miseries that government is cleverly deferring to some Later Time ahhh. isn't it a play with public?

Mr Awan is a very senior member and quite enlightened unlike many of us. Comments from shallowwater and some other members in this thread sound more like People Party's "Jiyalas" slogans. How your life or my way of living is improved or effected for good by the measures taken by this so called democratic government ? Mr. Awan is quite right in pointing out the inflation, electricity and other issues which have direct and adverse impact on common man and the country. What the present regime has done to mitigate such crisis except blaming Honorable General Musharraf's former government ? cheers, floydian

@ TSA
I dont get people who always talk of doing this and that but never do anything by themselves. I have a question from u, u are saying that current government has done nothing for country but can u tell me what have u done for ur country? If u have reservations over something then u should have enough courage to stand up and make that thing right rather just sitting and gossiping. Why havnt u become politicians if u want to see pakistan prosperous? I think this is the best example set by Zardari to demonstrate what politics of consensus is.
