According to two Nation theory,"Hindus and Muslims are two different nations,they have their own culture,religion and history....."now the question is whether we achieved this country on the basis of "Religion"or whether Muslim wanted to get a separate homeland where they could live happily...?Pakistan is just for Muslims..other communities have no right to live here....?objective Resolutions was according to the wishes of Jinnah???do u think that our past rulers wrongly interpret this theory..and thatswhy we have become intolerant about other communities...please share your views...

Not past rulers, but every ruler in future as well, will continue to interpret the 2 nation theory according to his/her needs. It is same as like the interpretation of Holy Quaran according to the needs of one's sect.

In my personal opinion objective resolution was not according to Jinnah `s will.I would like to add the Zia -ul-Haq utilized the name of Islam for his personal interests.His interpretation of Islam has drastically effect Pakistan.The state should be secular.

objectives Resolution was aganist the wishes of Jinnah,our rulers wrongly interpreted the two nation theory,and due to this,we have become an intolerant nation towards other communities.Jinnah said at the time of Partition"Religion is your Personal matter and not a state Matter"...but People ignored his words..we witnessed the sad incident of Gojra in August 2009...the only difference b/w the Gojra/Gujrat was that in Gujrat calamity state was involved:sadwhereas our govt condenmed the Gojra incident...the dire need of the hour is that we should understand the true spirit of Two Nation Theory...Islam is our religion,its a complete code of life and not only the religion of rites and rituals...

We got Pakistan, a separate country for the Muslims of India, on the basis of two nation theory. two nation theory does not mean, Muslims would have country in which only Muslims would stay. it means, Muslims would have a separate homeland in which they would practice the regulations of Islam. Islam makes people free to spend their lives according to their own religion and views. Hazrzat Muhammad(PBUH) signed a treaty with Jews and non Muslims of Madina. In which they agreed that people would be free to practice the rules and regulation according to their religion. They would cooperate with each other through thick and thin. we can observe such things in the treaty of Hudaibia and fateh Makkah.
In two nation theory we wanted a homeland in which we would practice such theory. I Would like to paste here the thoughts of Qaid-e-Azam, he said.
"The constitution of Pakistan has yet to be framed by the Pakistan Constituent Assembly. I do not know what the ultimate shape of this constitution is going to be, but I am sure that it will be of a democratic type, embodying the essential principle of Islam. Today, they are as applicable in actual life as they were 1,300 years ago. Islam and its idealism have taught us democracy. It has taught equality of man, justice and fairplay to everybody. We are the inheritors of these glorious traditions and are fully alive to our responsibilities and obligations as framers of the future constitution of Pakistan. In any case Pakistan is not going to be a theocratic State to be ruled by priests with a divine mission. We have many non-Muslims --Hindus, Christians, and Parsis --but they are all Pakistanis. They will enjoy the same rights and privileges as any other citizens and will play their rightful part in the affairs of Pakistan. Broadcast talk to the people of the United States of America on Pakistan recorded February, 1948.".

It shows that he did not want a secular country but Islamic.Dear! Objective resolution is not against the thoughts of Qaid-e-Azam. In objective resolution there is no point which contradicts the thoughts of Qaid-e-Azam.
The people from other religions are respectful for Pakistani Muslims. on the basis of gojra incident no one can say that the people from other religions are not peaceful here. they are spending their lives according to the constitution of Pakistan, which gives them special rights. Pakistani Muslims are not biased toward Pakistani non Muslim. when we compare Pakistan and India in this regard, we see that non Muslims in Pakistan have sufficient rights.

India is a secular country, then, why did we want a separate homeland for Muslims? We could live in India, a secular country. only the reason, to get Pakistan, was that Muslims wanted a separate country where they would practice Islamic rules and regulations. these thoughts were the base of two nation theory. Qaid-e-Azam was also in favour of islamic country,
He said at the opening ceremony of State Bank of Pakistan, Karachi July 1, 1948
"We must work our destiny in our own way and present to the world an economic system based on true Islamic concept of equality of manhood and social justice. We will thereby be fulfilling our mission as Muslims and giving to humanity the message of peace which alone can save it and secure the welfare, happiness and prosperity of mankind".

Two Nation Theory still exists...Muslims are still different than Hindus...but theory should be rightly interpreted by the state and the Muslims...My fellow is right by saying that Jinnah wanted Islamic economic System...but its the duty of us to understand the true spirit of Islamic Systems...instead of getting emotional we should try to rationalise TWO nation Theory...non-Muslims are not living here peacefully...we donot want to accept their presence here...The reality is that Pakistan is not just for Muslims but its for Pakistanis,...the white strip in the flag represents the minorities(white colour 7 colours se mil k bunta hai:shy),Quaid himself called Pakistan as "the Bouquet of different flowers"...:clap

People who try to prove Jinnah as secular mostly base their arguments on 11 August 1947 speech of the jinnah which he delivered in the first Constituent Assembly of Pakistan.I happened to read a column of dr safdar mehmood in which he stated that there are at least 100 instances when jinnah clearly and unambiguously stated that Pakistan would be an Islamic democratic State and Islam would be the ideology of Pakistan:

Speaking on the occasion of the Holy Prophet's birthday at the Karachi Bar Association on 25th January 1948, the Quaid said, "The Prophet of Islam (PBUH) was a great teacher. He was a great lawgiver. He was a great statesman and he was a great sovereign who ruled. The life of the Prophet (PBUH) was simple according to those times. He was successful in everything that he put his hand to from as a businessman to as a ruler. The Prophet (PBUH) was the greatest man that the world had ever seen. Thirteen hundred years ago he laid the foundations of democracy".

Addressing the Civil, Naval, Military and Air Force Officers at Khaliqdina Hall Karachi on 11th October 1947 the Quaid said, "It is my belief that our salvation lies in following the golden rules of conduct set for us by our great lawgiver, the Prophet of Islam. Let us lay the foundations of our democracy on the basis of true Islamic ideals and principles".

In his concluding speech at the session of All-India Muslim League, Karachi on 26th December 1943 the Quaid said, "What is it that keeps the Muslims united as one man, and what is the bedrock and sheet-anchor of the community. It is Islam. It is the Great Book, Quran, that is the sheet-anchor of Muslim India. I am sure that as we go on there will be more and more of oneness, one God, one Book, one Prophet and one Nation".

In the message of Eid to the Muslims in September 1945 he said, "Every Mussalman knows that the injunctions of the Holy Quran are not confined to religious and moral duties. From the Atlantic to the Ganges, says Gibbon, the Holy Quran is acknowledged as the fundamental code, not only of theology, but of civil and criminal jurisprudence, and the laws which regulate the action and the property of mankind are governed by immutable sanctions of the will of God". Everyone, except those who are ignorant, knows the Holy Quran is the general code of the Muslims".

One can quote many speeches to establish that jinaah truly believed that Quran will be the law of pakistan.11th august speech was misinterpreted in many ways.All what jinnah said in that speech was not contrary to basic principles of Islam.In an islamic state minorities and non muslims possess all rights as do muslim citizen.History of islam is replete with such examples.

That was what Miss Gandhi claimed at that time.did Muslim culture and Hindu culture merge after the fall of dhakka?did East wing of pakistan merge into india after that incident?did muslim and hindu become one nation afterwards?
