Merciless massacre of muslims----Why is OIC sleeping?

I am unable to find words to condemn brutal, atrocious, inhuman act of Israel monsters who butchered innocent muslims in cold blood today. Our brave anchor Talat hussain n two other pakistanis are among captives May Allah save them n others from fanaticism of Israel.

My Question is: What the dead OIC is doing? If they dont raise their voice now or revitalise itself what will be the fate of 600 muslims n others?

Who will stop Israel from doing these henious acts in future?

Ur input will be commended

GAZA CITY : At least 20 passengers have been reported dead and over 60 wounded on Monday when Israeli forces stormed Freedom Flotilla (a boat carrying pro-Palestinian activists bound for Gaza), Aaj News reported. Executive Director Aaj News Talat Hussain along with his team members is onboard, whose where about could not be known.

AFP: Unconfirmed media reports from Hamas's Al Aqsa television said up to 20 passengers had been killed, of whom nine were Turkish nationals.

Media reports also said that senior Arab Israeli leader Raed Salah had been severely injured in the clashes, in which Gaza-based Hamas TV station said up to 20 people were killed.

According to Israel's private channel 10 television, Israeli marine commandos had opened fire after being attacked with axes and knives by a number of the passengers on board the aid ships, the television said, without giving the source of its information.

Israel's army radio said between 10 and 14 people had been killed in clashes which broke out after the passengers allegedly tried to grab weapons off the naval commandos who tried to storm one of the boats.

It was not clear whether the clashes took place on just one of the six boats making up the aid convoy.

Police said Israeli security forces were put on high alert to handle any "possible disturbances" among the country's Arab Israeli population in the wake of the deadly naval raid.

Turkey's foreign ministry warned that the raid on the Flotilla, which included Turkish vessels, may lead to "irreparable consequences" in bilateral ties.

"We strongly condemn these inhumane practices of Israel," a written statement said.

"This deplorable incident, which took place in open seas and constitutes a fragrant breach of international law, may lead to irreparable consequences in our bilateral relations," it said.

The Islamist Hamas movement which controls the Gaza Strip on Monday urged Arabs and Muslims to "rise up" in front of Israeli embassies across the globe in protest against Israel's deadly raid.

Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas slammed the killings as "a massacre", while Arab League chief Amr Mussa said the raid was a "crime" against a humanitarian mission.

The Israeli military censor ordered a block on all information regarding those injured or killed during the storming of the ship.

Gaza's Al-Aqsa television showed footage of black-clad Israeli commandos descending from helicopters and clashing with activists, as well as several wounded people lying on the deck of the ship.

The ships, carrying more than 700 passengers, were on the last leg of an aid mission to deliver some 10,000 tonnes of supplies to Gaza, which has been under a crippling Israeli blockade since 2007.

Hamas reacted angrily to the deadly raid.

"We call on all Arabs and Muslims to rise up in front of Zionist embassies across the whole world," said Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri, using the Arabic word 'intifada'.

Ismail Haniya, the Islamist movement's prime minister in Gaza, slammed the "ugly attack" in a statement in which he called for "the United Nations to protect the activists" on board the boats.

The boats had started heading towards Gaza from international waters of Cyprus at 3:00pm (1200 GMT) Sunday, with organisers saying they hoped to enter Gaza waters during the daylight hours.

About six hours after their departure, three Israeli missile boats left their naval base in the northern coastal city of Haifa on a mission to intercept the flotilla, reporters on board one of the vessels said before being told to turn off their phones.

Israel had at the weekend slammed as "illegal" the convoy's attempt to break the Gaza blockade and warned it would intercept the ships, tow them to the Ashdod port and detain the activists before seeking to deport them.

It labelled the convoy a media stunt, insisting the humanitarian situation is stable in Gaza despite reports to the contrary from aid agencies and offering to deliver the supplies through its own land crossings.

"This is a provocation intended to delegitimise Israel," Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said on Saturday.

No words to express sorrow and grief for inhuman act of Israel, Why Muslim world is sleeping? Its time to be united and raise this issue in front of UN. Where are human rights now? Its violation of international laws. Muslim world must condemn this brutal act and launch an active protest against Israel’s illegal, reprehensible and terrorist actions.

May Allah save Muslims (ameen)

Egypt should have its head hung in shame!

Forget the OIC.It is practically dead.It breathed its last long long ago.And the Arab League is too ineffectual to get Israel to accept a Two State Solution and halt its settlements in West Bank. And then there are the 1.8 billion Muslims who show a gross indifference to what goes on in that part of Middle East.

Worst yet is a country that is COMPLICIT WITH ISRAEL in bringing about a complete blockade of Gaza. That country is Egypt.

Gaza is now into its fourth year of siege. After supplies from across Rafah crossing were choked off,the only lifeline available to the Gazans was a maze of underground tunnels along the border with Egypt.Of late,Egypt has reinforced its border with an underground steel wall to squeeze the last drop of aid entering Gaza.

The 6 flotilla ships may have ended up being an abortive exercise but they did serve one purpose. They sent a message to the Muslim community loud and clear:Egypt should be pressed to heed moral considerations and open up the Rafah crossing.

This is a moment of truth for the Arab League. It would do the Arab League well if it confronted Israel on the legality of the Gaza blockade.Ultimately, the Arab League and OIC should push for a nuclear free zone in the Middle East and get Israel to recognize the government of Hamas which was duly elected in 2006.If they can't act now, they are incapable of acting ever.

Iran is the only Muslim country to stick its neck out over this matter. Its high time others joined its rank.

OIC Secretary General: Israeli Aggression on the Relief Convoy Heading for Gaza is a Crime and Blatant Violation of All International Laws Norms and Standards

: 31/05/2010 - View in: Arabic | French - Print

The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu issued a strong condemnation of the crime perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against the defenseless citizens participating in the 'Freedom Flotilla' headed for Gaza in support for the Palestinian people under siege there.

The Secretary General further considered this crime as a grave escalation and blatant violation of international law and human norms and standards, and held Israel fully responsible for the health and safety of all those participating in this humanitarian convoy. He also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and his sincere wishes of prompt recovery for the wounded.

The Secretary General reiterated the OIC’s call for the immediate lifting of the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza for the last four years, which has caused a severe deterioration of the humanitarian and economic situation there.

Also the Secretary General called upon the OIC Ambassadorial Groups both in Geneva and New York to move towards convening in an emergency meeting and to initiate action at the level of the Security Council and the Human Rights Commission to examine the fallouts of this attack.

In addition, the Secretary General stated that he was in the process of urgent contacts with Member States and all impactful international parties to take concrete action to put an end to the Israeli violations in the Palestinian territories, to demand an investigation into the Israeli attack against the Freedom Flotilla, and to call for the prosecution of Israeli officials for their crimes against humanity.

If U've opted for International Law,help us look at the illegality of what Israel did

If U've opted for International Law,help us look at the illegality of what Israel did

This matter falls under 'jus ad bellum'.Isn't it?It is a violation of UN Charter Article 2(3) which says that"All members shall settle their international disputes by peaceful means only" and also a violation of Article 2(4) which says"All members shall refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity and political independence of any State."
But Israel has a certain way to respond to its unending list of violations. It says it is only acting in self-defence,citing the much abused Article 51 of UN Charter.

That brings us to one troubling question...Where do you draw the line between "Use of Force" and "Act of Aggression"????Its important to know that because use of force can justify action under Art 51 but aggression is unjustifiable.

Two,I would like to know whether 'jus in bello'(the Geneva and Hague Conventions)applies in this case???(considering the fact that they relate to armed conflict and this sure doesn't qualify as armed conflict.)

Lastly, when Israel intercepted the flotilla ships,it entered into Gaza's waters. What does the Law of Sea say about that? How bad is it for a country to penetrate another country's territorial waters???

I would appreciate an informative reply

merciless massacre

it is an international criminal act and against the basic human rights
But question is why it is always carried out against the MUSLIMS?
it is point to think and work on it.

fromQAU Tuesday, June 01, 2010 12:41 AM

extremely sad incident.
words fail to express the feelings.
another wake up call to the Muslims.
OIC session on emergency basis needs to be called upon within 24 hours.
The Muslim countries need to register protest at the UN and file a petition in the International Court of Justice.the parliaments and assemblies from all over the muslim countries shud pass a resolution of condemnation.

i think that this is what is possble at the moment.
i dun expect any miracle from OIC or muslim countries on their individual effort..
