Default Mis-use of Blasphemi Law

Another very sad incident reported in Faisalabd where 2 christen brothers were gun down in court compound. They were facing trail in a blasphemi case but were killed before the charges were proved against them.
It has become a common practice here that if you have personal enemity with a non-muslim, you implicate him/her in a false blasphemi case. It happened several time before and that is why their is voiced demand to repeal this law, introduced by Gen. Zia.

This is indeed very unfortunate and sad, if someone uses blashphemy to malign someone innocent and get someone killed. However, any such act does not make an accuse to repeal blashphemy law. It is because according to Islamic teachings, anyone who commits blashphemy is liable to be killed. But this whole process should take place in a court of law.

Now if the blashphemy law is repealed, then every Pakistani muslim has an accuse to kill someone because, state has no law to prevent blashphemy. Thus it seems that blasphemy law should be there to protect innocent people.

The Faisalabad incident is unfortunate, but what the blashphemy law has to do with the killing?

PPC-295-C says: Use of derogatory remarks, etc; in respect of the Holy Prophet. Whoever by words, either spoken or written or by visible representation, or by any imputation, innuendo, or insinuation, directly or indirectly, defiles the sacred name of the Holy Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) shall be punished with death, or imprisonment for life, and shall also be liable to fine.

This section has been misused by some hypocrites to slaughter people to serve their vested interest for decades,as no judicial execution of a person charged with blasphemy has ever occurred in Pakistan. Our politicians, lawyers, scholars and intellectuals must wake up from deep slumber to reconsider and revisit this section. Either they should amend it or repeal it to save minorities from fatal victimisation.

Last but not the least:Allah and His Angels Send Durood and Salam Upon The Prophet(SAW).Tou kise insaan k kuch kahnay se unki(SAW) ki shan mein kise bi kism ki kumi nh aaskte(God forbid). So no need to kill any body in the name of our beloved prophet(S.A.W) who is mercy to whole the universe.

May Allah enable us to send abundant duroods upon the Holy Prophet(S.A.W) and to follow his teachings in letter and spirit.

Regards,
