Default Thar Coal Reserves

If All The Oil Reserves of Saudi Arab & Iran Put Together These Are Approximately 375 Billion Barrels, But A Single Thar Coal Reserve Of Sindh is about 850 Trillion Cubic Feet, Which is More Than Oil Reserves Of Saudi & Iran.

These reserves estimated at 850 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas, about 30 times higher than Pakistan 's proven gas reserves of 28 TCF.

Dr Murtaza Mughal president of Pakistan Economy Watch in a statement said that these reserves of coal worth USD 25 trillion can not only cater the electricity requirements of the country for next 100 years but also save almost four billion dollars in staggering oil import bill.

Just 2% usage of Thar Coal Can Produce 20,000 Mega Watts of Electricity for next 40Years ,without any single Second of Load Shedding.
and if the whole reserves are utilized, then it could easily be imagined how much energy could be generated.

The coal power generation would cost Pakistan PKR 5.67 per unit while power generated by Independent Power Projects cost PKR 9.27.

It Requires Just Initial 420 Billion Rupees Initial Investment,
Whereas Pakistan Receives annually 1220 Billion from Tax Only.

Chinese and other companies had not only carried out surveys and feasibilities of this project but also offered 100 percent investment in last 7 to 8 years but the “Petroleum Gang” always discouraged them in a very systematic way.

But Petroleum lobby , is very strong in Pakistan and they are against any other means of power generation except for the imported oil. This lobby is major beneficiary of the increasing oil bill that is estimated above 15 billion dollar this year. Even GOV. is planning to Sell all these reserve to a company on a very low price.

When Perwaz Musharraf was president he gave green signal to embark upon the initiation of work on exploiting energy potential of these coal reserves of Thar under a modern strategy.

There is no importance of National interest in our country, every group is trying to be a syndicate. Journalists, Lawyers, politicians and every group of the country is showing its power-show for their own interests. All of them are pressurizing every government to save their own interests and, ultimately, those are messes who suffer. Every time when their is strike by lawyers or others, they suffer by suspension of courts etc.
These groups 'll have to shift their focus from their own to National interest then there 'll be a positive change in Pakistan.

dear brother,
you have written above (red tap-ism is "an another" bar in the way of this project) which is not a correct use of "an".

please use the word another only, instead of "an another",
thanks and regards.

Please note there are many branches of this Thar Coal Project tree.

1. Our govt. has never legislated a fromal workout policy for its conservation, the reports published so far are by economists and private bodies.

2. Petrol mafia is silently playing its role behind the scene and has put govt. machinery on its toes.

3. Thar coal project has been twice rebuffed and chinese engineers have been made to flew away from extraction field by local bodies involved. As they have never been taken on baord.

4. Problem of regionalism has never been realised as a real source of problem for turning out coal into a new big energy source.

5. Power politics in pakistan have worsen the situation further, every party trying to take the lead in starting such projects always resulted in criticism and lack of development. It happened with KalaBagh Dam and secondly with COAL energy fields productions.

6. Poor managemnt of minerals extraction departments.

7. Lastly the fault lies on the shoulder or very individual due to unawareness, its the common masses that can influence govt. to a great extent but due to our lack of awareness the situation remain grim and we are suffereing. I believe if 17 crore populace vote for coal project then any mafia is just a grain of sand against the public storm.

Cheers. =)

Default Pakistan The Richest country in natural resources

Thar coal reserves have 175 billion tonnes of coal, which is equivalent to 618 billion barrels of crude oil recently informed by VC of The university of the Punjab. Following is the list of top 5 oil reserve countries of the world:

Country Reserves (bbl) Production/day (mbl) Reserve life (yr)
Saudi Arabia 260 8.8 81
Canada 179 2.7 182
Iran 136 3.9 96
Iraq 115 3.7 85
Kuwait 99 2.5 108

175 billion tons of Thar according to Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran equal 618 billion barrels of crude oil.
This is more than twice if we compare it with oil reserves of KSA and equal to total oil reseves of top 4 countries.
If like KSA, we utilize about 10 million of it per day, it would suffice for more than 200 years. Not to forget other resources that Pakistan have when compared with KSA. For example, we have largest gold/copper ore deposits at Saindak (Baluchistan) dying to be expoited.
Under the barren mountains of Balochistan and hot sands of Sindh, there is unlimited amount of oil and gas reserves not touched yet. And still further, we have furtile lands of Punjab, ready to feed a population twice as big as we are now, the best irrigation system (waiting for more water reservoirs to enrich it), and the best qulaity cotton and rice. Last but not the least, we have brave Pushtoons, the vigor of courage that is essential for a nation. We have population, young brains and exploding urban middle class to enrich the intellectual and culture needs of the nation.
What else we want? It is pedalogical to know that Saudi Arabia only sells about 9 million Barrels of Oil per day. It has the best infrastructure in the world, with a cradle to grave welfare system for its citizens, superb freeways, fantastic hospitals and an infrastructure that is the envy of the world. Pakistan’s credit crunch in temporary. Once the country gets over the hump in the next few years, it can begin improving its infrastructure which is the best in South Asia even now. We hope it to be true soon.

Default may almighty Allah save us, Pakistanies, Aameen!

Its very unfortunate for the country and bad luck for the people that despite richest in natural resources, we still are poor mainly because of lack of visionary leadership ruling Pakistan since its birth. Here, would like to share with readers an article appeared in the newspaper which is another good example proving Pakistan the richest country:

Pakistan has 2nd largest salt mine, 5th largest gold mines, 7th largest copper mines, 5th largest coal reservoirs, 11th largest wheat producer, 12th largest rice producer and 7th country with nuclear power but still we are beggers and not the choosers. Nothing will change as far as the mindset of the leaders and the people remains that of beggers. Almighty Allah saves us from beggery and humiliation.

May Almighty Allah guide us to the right direction.
