Role of Politicians in Flood Crisis
 

our political parties are playing scoring game instead of helping stranded people. They are criticizing each other. Our politicians spend a huge amount during the election but now a days, they are not helping the marooned. PML N,Q and PPP are big parties of the country and rich personalities belong to these parties. If each parlimentarian gives 10 lac for relief activities then almost 1100 million will collect which is sufficient share from politicians and nation will respect them more. Pls give your comments

I completely agree with you. All political parties, especially the major parties; PPP and PMLN, are still down little. People, who elected them to the parliament, have legitimate expectations towards them. Many reports have been on air that in some areas even the MPA or MNA of the concerned area did not visit. One could see these people working for 22 hours daily, throwing their money upon voters, making all contacts and using all other resources available during their election campaigns. If they could do so at the time of elections, why not today when the people who voted are in need.

However, what type of role you want to see from the people who are indulged in corruption, having degrees of some thousand Rs, getting benefit for themselves only and only get elected for having frequent foreign visits? (With the exception of some good politicians which are in all parties but very little in number)

Here, keeping in view the peculiar political condition in Pakistan, I would, rather, blame ourselves who elect these people. At the time of election we do know who is going to deliver and who is not but we don't care about this. We only see the trend who is going to be winner and some other materialistic benefits. It is ourselves which needs to learn a lesson and be changed.

yes. i also agree with u.We are the people who elected them every time and after election we criticize them. Then why not we elect other people except PML N and PPP? Because of our personal interest, we elect them. If we want to see our country, a developed country then we should change our mind setup. I think,young and educated people should come forward to make Pakistan a developed and welfare nation. My view point is that we should give a chance to PTI of Imran Khan.

you all fellows mentioned the rite things..

now point scoring is going to stop for sometime ....... coz for them its time to rock together, their mouths are watered by just thinking of the aid ( hot Cakes ) . n to taste the real taste of this , they will sit together to come up with a strategy to eat and get away safely .

BUT is that a solution????

It is indeed high time to raise this question of how our political heads have come up to people expectations. I think it will be a little unjust if we demand personal loans from politicians infect why not we criticise to an extent that a disaster management policy is taken up in parliament immediately. This is what they are seated for in parliament and if a proper policy is shapped up, its certain that there will be budgetary allocations for it and that will serve the purpose if it is kept under tight scrutiny from Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Our major problem is that blame game and scoring game always sway away people attention from the real remedy. If today disaster management department with a new national policy is not set, tomorrow we will be begging politicians again to pay us pennies. It will be against the national interest as well as individual interests.

No disaster can be overcome so easily by immediate finance arrangment, its effects will go long way, now food shortage and commodity price are sky high in flood stricken areas and will get more worse for coming three four months as agricultural land will remain under utilized. We need a national policy, proper planning to turn the table in our favour and rehabilitation of affectees. This is how we will keep our nation safe from any future calamity, its not the finance that will pay the job.
