Responsibilty is the price of freedom!

A.oa, to alll memberz and participents!

well, lets start with a pinching question.
Is there any difference between freedom of press and freedom of speech? Have ur say plz.
Accordind to what i get of this issue is that......freedom of speech may belong to individuals or people or general masses who have more n more freedom in giving vent to whatever they have in thier mind or the way they contemplate unfolding events.
But, when it comes to freedom of press, here it means freedom in the box.........means they are free but they are not...........

Is it because media is taken as an institution n not as an individual?thats why they are shackled?............

Media is an institution having a strong power to change the dynamics of the prevailing environment. The need of the time is to identify the boundaries for this institution. A free press abides by a code of ethical standards, where as freedom of speech concerns more with the moral values.

Wasalam,

In my opinion, answer is "The same difference which is between Press and speech" with "no difference of freedom."

Responsibility is the price of freedom!
Let’s start with differentiating the freedom of speech and freedom of press:
Freedom of speech is much wider domain while the freedom of press is a sub-domain of this realm. Freedom of speech is a “value”. It develops in a society over time and decades. Once the freedom of speech is accepted as a value in a society; then freedom of press automatically accepted.

Here comes to the question: “Responsibility is the price of freedom!” when we talk about the responsibility it differs a lot from society to society and from country to country. If we confined it to Pakistan then; I must say Pakistani media currently enjoying unprecedented freedom. Now the media is an institution or rather it is believed that the media is the fourth pillar of the state. Pakistani media has a great influence on the opinion making.
Responsibility! Here the responsibility has the same treatment as treated as a whole by the society. Pakistani media requires plenty of time to be mature. There must be a self censorship and an indigenous code of conduct.

Very critical question.
Before my outset on this voyage i would like to add to this meaning.Freedom of speech is an individual subject,it does not mean that it loses its effectiveness when it comes to the mass.It only means to speak without censorship and limitation. It provides the speaker with the opportunity to give his/her inner feelings a way out in order to rank his/opinion not for the sake of poll but for the satisfaction of his/her own inner self.Mostly, the term is misperceived and misappropriated with alike terms, like freedom of press, freedom of practice, freedom of individual deeds and so on.
On the contrary freedom of press is a general subject, which belongs to the every pigment of society.Freedom of press is not an entity in itself, nay it is a freewill streamline of collective thoughts, feelings, actions, practices and way of taking and adopting different ideas. It does not confine itself to an individual matter and a single soul.
When these two terms come across to the convergence point, then they form a collective concept that is known as freedom of media.

it is obvious that freedom of speech does lie with an individual while freedom of press is considered as forth pillar of state so that it has direct connection with the masses of any state we can differ them ,freedom of speech represents the thoughts of any individual while freedom of press explains the thoughts of any state . PAKISTANI MEDIA IS NOT MATURE , here i disagree, owing to the countless bases , we can not deny that Pakistani Media is Mature , but the Maturity of Media is under pressure ,we have the examples , whenever Media showed Maturity in revenge , Offices were burnt , Reporters were tortured , Channels were banned , Even Newspapers were torn and burnt openly on the roads , so the channels had to face billions of loses in few days , The Maturity of Media is ruined where healthy criticism becomes unbearable thing for state .
