Default governement system in Pakistan

Which form of govt is better for Pakistan: Democracy, kingdom in all previous princely states, military rule or Khilafat?
Pakistan has experienced democracy and military rules but has not achieved the goals set in the freedom movement.

Default @ democracy

There is no doubt that Democracy is the best available option if not perfect. Its a sorry state for us that we blame Democracy for not being fruitful to us wherer as the country is ruled by Dictators for more than half of its history.

Quida i azam, envisoned a Democratic Pakistan. And we are not yet right to our basic goals. Being a deomocratic state must be our first goal folling the rest.

Its a slow process with longterm rewards. So we must be patient and keep going in the right direction.

Any system has the potential to work as long as there is sincerity.
However, the areas comprising Pakistan have traditionally been ruled by imperial overlords, starting from earliest times, right upto 1947. A completely free for all democracy leads to chaos, at least so does the argument goes. Therefore, perhaps, democracy, but a presidential form, instead of parliamentary might be a better fit. In that way, the people get to have a voice to select their ruler, who thereafter rules with authority. He is not bound by political manipulations of political parties with vested interests. Plus the president is also independent to opt for the best-man-for-the-job instead of obliging people for ministers.

Having said this, there is no doubt that it depends a lot on the person of the president himself. He has the levers to abuse the system. But then like in all other presidential forms of governance around the globe, appropriate checks and balances can be incorporated into the system. After all USA is also a working manifestation of this system.

Democracy is the best but we did not achieve our goals so i think as a second option khilafat is also good for us so The main points of khilafat or political system of Islam are as follows:

Sovereignty of Allah which means supremacy of Shariah (Quran and Sunnah). The basic law of the state shall be based on the Quran and the Sunnah. The detailed subsidiary law is obtained by Ijtihad carried out by individual or groups of scholars or made by the Parliament in the present day world with the aid of the Ulama or scholars of Islam. Sovereignty of people and Parliament and the concept sovereign state , as often used by even Islamic politicians ,mean that the legislative power lie with the people rather than any dictator and that the state is independent, These concepts do not negate the absolute sovereignty of Allah. In Iranian constitution along with the concept of absolute sovereignty of Allah the limited sovereignty of people has been used .

Government established by the free choice of the people. This is the majority view. In the present world, this means government elected by the people. There is agreement now on this among the Ulama of Islam. There is hardly any major difference. This is the system accepted in the Islamic constitutions in force in the Muslim world.

Fundamental rights: All citizens should have human rights irrespective of gender or creed. The Islamic Constitutions of the world have a chapter on the Fundamental rights or Rights of the people which are available to all the citizens in the state. These rights have been agreed to or confirmed by Ulama after long debates in the light of the Quran and Sunnah. These have also been upheld by the OIC document on human rights prepared by the scholars of Islam.

Rule of Law and Independence of Judiciary are important points of Islamic political system.

Shura or consultation with the people and among the persons in the Government through various forum including Parliament is an important element in Islamic political theory. This is the basis of democracy in Islam. Large number of scholars feel that the term democracy can be used in Islamic framework. (Ref: Preamble of Islamic constitution of Pakistan which says that the state shall strive to observe "democracy as enunciated by Islam". Ulama accepted this phrase. )

@faisal and M.Ali.
Currently, I witness civilian dictators in the so called democratic govt. I have observed the character of the politicians that they have feudal mindset. Democracy in Pakistan is OFF the people, FAR the people and BUY the people. Voters are purchased and rigging is a normal routine in the elections.

I think all types of Govt. is good for us.. because we are the people who fed-up from one form of Govt. very earlly... we have no patience and no stemina to absorb any single type of Govt. for Long time.

So, we are taste changing people so it is good for us if all of above mention Govt. come after a certain period and entertain us....

63 years passed.. but our mind set is same as before...
We have no personal thinkng..
we have no personal decision making power..
We give vote to a person who give us a job for any of our family member.. we givt vote to a person just because he/she has family term with us...
we give a vote to a person just becuase we are afraid from him....
we give a vote to a person because i dont like the person contesting against him....
we vote to a person because he belong to PML-PPP-PTI etc etc despite that we dont personally know him.....
We give vote to a person only because we are cultivating his lands....
We give vote to a person becuase he has a good links in officials....

There are many other baseless reason for our vote casting....
We never think for a while that we must have to vote for such a people who will do something for our country whole, not only for a single person.....

Now,,, i know ..that... first reply for the post will be...this is because of lack of education ooooooo my dear... akhir kub tk hum yehi rona rotay rahain gay or educate nahi krain gay apnay ap ko?
No one come from the heaven and teach us and give us awarnesss................

The nation deserve Danda i.e. Army/Dictator Rule.
The country needs Democracy.
The country hasnt experienced continuous long time of democracy. Let the democracy work for 10 to 15 years, then we'll be able to suggest wether it suits to our country or otherwise.

@unsolved
What do people want from the govt? I have observed that people want only good living standard, employment opportunities and poverty alleviation though there is military or democratic govt setup

Agreed. We have reached the point where we do not want to see the face, uniform or set up, we want Peace, employment, respect good living standard etc. etc. whosoever could provide it to us. Who should rule, what should be the setup etc. etc. these are now secondary issues now.
