Lets Speak against this INJUSTICE

The much needed sixth population and Housing Census is again having problems as some pressure groups are hell bound to show a fake increase in their size in karachi and Sindh.
Recently released figures of House listing operation in March showed an abnormal increase in the number of household (84%) in Karachi/sindh, while it is 32% in the case of Pujab. Are the people of Punjab not getting married and producing babies ? It is feared that these pressure groups will try their best to maniuplate the result of census in their favour to grab the maximum share of national resources.
The concerned NGOs and citizens of Pakistan should come forward and act as a watch dog to ensure the transperancy of next census to ensure the due share of all geographical regions of the country.

increase in sindh population is might be because, large number of pakhtoons are in sindh now, to get employment or because of war on terror in khyber pakhtoonkwa and there are also lot of afghanis in sindh.

Census was not carried out in its true letter and spirit. But even if it will be carried out honestly, you might see significant increase in Karachi alone, because of bulk of immigrants from all parts of the country settling here. So the dramatic increase of population in Sindh should not be alarming to other provinces, because in any way there will be a drastic increase in Sindh as compared to Punjab or any other province.

I feel utterly miserable to read a presumptuous and prejudicial post that carries no weight either in words or facts. On behalf of those who are being wrongly alleged, I categorically reject the rumours intended to mislead the otherwise innocent people of the largest province. Consider the facts below;

1. The census teams which enlist houses and family members are under no coercion whatsoever and are working freely around the country except tribal areas.

2. The census is supervised by the team of experts and monitored at national level by various organizations.

3. The population growth whatever % it may show is based on the calculations of the survey and NOT mere assumptions.

4. Factors which are responsible for the hike in population are;
A) High influx of internal immigrants from Swat and other regions.
B) Less effective and almost invisible population control strategy

5. In Punjab, since the literacy ratio is relatively high and the population control mechanism is widely implemented, the results are successful barring of the unchecked growth, though it's still 32% which seems relatively high.

6. There's no denying to the decade old fact that Punjab is the most populous province and it gets the lion's share from the national exchequer.

Considering the facts, no laymen would be naive enough to let any so called sociologist mislead him/her to a prejudicial conclusion.

And to you Mr. Sociologist,
A mere degree in Sociology doesn't entitle you to formulate assumptions which are unfounded. Being taught in sociology, you're rather expected to conduct a survey yourself, do some research out of the newspaper, and bring your mind to light.

Well we still need some more information in this regard.
We can not give our judgement straight away. You know that politics is a dirty game so what PML(N) or any other party says in this regard i dont believe it. They want to have the census report of 1998 as standard, but all of us know that about 40 million votes are fake...........
So, it is better to have all the relevant information first.
Anyways i agree to the point that Punjab being the most populated province should have experienced a more pronounced population growth. If, according to the report, punjab did not experience this change it means two things: 1) Govt of punjab has successfully controlled the population increase; which is highly improbable, 2) the results are fake.
I would go with the second option.

@ Redmax
What is the source of your information????

You seems to me very innocent through your post. In response to ur saying that census staff is not under corecion, plz go to Karachi and interior sindh and ask the Charge Superndent, Circle Supervisors and enumorators deployed by PCO that how how they were made hostage by Nationalists in Interior sindh and by a linguist group in Karachi and forced to make fake enteries in house listing registers. And for your kind information, it was not census operation but house listing operation where only the buildings are marked and Number of household are recorded for population census at a later stage.
Through house listing it was revealed that abnormal increase in household numbers that are not possible by any Demographic principle. That is why the actual census is delayed after consultation with the Experts belonging to PCO and UNFPA.
In Punjab many blocks were unmanagable due to old maps and census teams ignored them and these are being splitted in smaller and managable blocks of 250-300 house holds. Plz try to read the link again and then talk in a sensible way instead of declaring yourself expert of all trades and master of none. The people sitting at top are not fools who have delayed census after seeing all these flaws.

Sense begets sense. If you talk non-sense, you'll naturally get a response to your level where it is easy for you to understand. May be you'd do this forum a great favour by not wasting its data in kilobytes by creating threads which lack substance. The Housing census is being carried out by its standard procedure and irregularities (if any) of any nature are part of human work which add to this fact that census is neither carried out by robots nor by the stretch of hallucination as you want many of your likes to believe. I have no reason to raise a finger at you, but I have hundreds of reasons to discard and render it waste, the false propaganda initiated by you. May be you should build a stronger case together with supporting evidences in future rather than putting forth an epaper link that leads nowhere.
