according to official view, there are 3 portions of this exam:compulsory, optionals and interview.
Compulsory : majority are filtered and their basic knowledge is checked by unknown criteria. 3 or 4 out of 6 compulsory subjects are always low scoring and marked according to opinion oriented examiners. optionals: based on pure luck and scoring trends make or break merit. remember hard work is a must to be in that scoring trend scenario. Interview: based on psychological report, personality,IQ,attitudes, knowledge and those super/moderate or poor 30 minutes are final contributors towards one's merit. in short this was a ridiculous reply from fpsc official so many factors and one has to be at its toes to cover and fix these all factors.this is on aspirants' part. but on the other hand ,scoring which is solely in the hand of examiners, is the biggest factor of all to decide fate of aspirants. aspirants with same knowledge, studying from same books/notes and having almost similar writing expression scored differently. I can only say that one thing that is variable, unpredictable and determines one's fate, is EXAMINER (and his/her mood) on the other side. thats what makes this exam unpredictable to its maximum. what FPSC needs to do is make this factor less unpredictable by changing exam system.so that brilliant ones and those who deserve come to top. Then the merit made will have scores exactly according to aspirants preparation level. |

hmm.. i think candidates ,especially those who cant qualify (or those who dont get allocated) would never be in a position to convince FPSC to improve its system..their criticism, no matter how constructive, would always be labelled as "sour grapeism"by the detractors .Change would probably be more forthcoming if championed by those who successfully navigate these hurdles.their opinion would carry FAR more weightage (even if its exactly synonymous! )
but the catch is once people are through, they dont care anymore. : hence the status quo maintains itself |

it is quite discouraging... how come? a person with three years experience of appearance in xam could be taken so harshly? well on other hand people with just three months preparation get allocation?
