KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has signed the summary regarding imposition of Governor's rule in Balochistan after which Governor Zulfiqar Ali Magsi have become cheif executive of the province, Geo News reported.

The notification in this regard is expected to be issued soon.

Earlier, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf announced that invoking article 234 of the constitution, Governor's rule in Balochistan has been imposed for ttwo months effective from Monday.

Talking to protestors of the Hazara sit-in, PM Ashraf expressed hope that as an executive of the province, Governor Zulfiqar Ali Magsi would take all necessary steps to hold those behind the Quetta bombings accountable.

He also said that FC has been given all powers of police in the province.

The prime minister asked protestors to inform Governor Balochistan and FC Commander about their problems, adding that action would be taken immediately.

He assured the protestors that federal government would fully cooperate with the governor.

False FIR registered against Shia people would also be withdrawn, the prime minister said.

Replying a query regarding deployment of army in the province, Ashraf said that army could be called in anytime for civilian administration's help.

It is good to see that [the] army has let the government extricate all the matters on its own.:clap
It is a good sign for Democracy to prevail in future in Pakistan.
Army could have easily stepped in Baluchistan but it did not. Hats off to Gen. Kiyani.

By imposing Governor rule, the PPPP acknowledged about bad governance. Government accepted that they have fail to deliver.
But here new questions arise that the governor rule could be able to make law and order situation better in the province?
In my opinion it will be same as changing a democratic government and bringing a military dictator as people feel this as a blessing at the time of implementation of martial law and then again start cursing the dictatorship and wanting a democracy.
At least there is a sigh of relief that baloch people got rid of Raisani, who was a worse ruler even then GG Ghulam Muhammad. He was only a laughing stock and failed completly in administring the province.
May Allah help Pakistan and baloch people to see a better future. Aameen

Its the same PPP led Government who dissloved the Balochistan government back in 70's during its first regime, on account of different charges. And now its the same Government exercised the same practice i.e imposed Governor rule in the province. Whether or not the situation will come under control, is separate matter, but one thing is for sure, the historians of Pakistani politicians would write this event in ill spirited words. Dissovling an elected government is the last resort due to the abysmyl performance of a democratic government. I my personal view, a government dissloved in one province put a huge question mark on the central government position too. Had this event happened in a democratic polity, the government in office would have abdicated the office by now.

"Bari der kar di mehrban ne aty aty"

Govt should have taken the this step soon after when Chief Justice took sui moto action on poor law and order situation in Balochistan. Unfortunately, govt's obduracy has costed so many lives.

What is Article 234 and Governance system in Balochistan...

2 times the Government of Balochistan were dissolved , and both have dissolved when Shiia community targeted in Balochistan , the first happened when Attaullah Mengal was CM in 1970's in the regime of same PPP Govt , and now same PPP was on majority when shiia community targeted ...
So, whats the reason ... I am asking that Question being a native of Balochistan...
