Structure of New Government????
 

AOA dear members,

Kindly please comment or give your idea on the structure of upcoming government after the general elections.

Will the new government be in majority or should we expect another hung parliament for next 5 years.


Please describe your favourite kind of government which you think may take Pakistan to the high level of prosperity and peace.

Let the general elections be held in peaceful environtment. I don't see any big change in the new government. [/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

Looking at the current scenario and party position of different parties, it seems that no single party would be able to get majority in upcoming elections. I think that any party would not be able to get more than 130 seats in National Assembley. Hence if a party gets 130 seats by getting majority would need another 50+ seats to form government and would go for alliances with other small parties. I am expecting the same kind of parliament with many parties ruling.

That is why I am against this multi party system.

But yes let the elections held and we,ll see from there onwards.


But please suggest all others through this forum to use their right to vote wisely and without being biased towards any party on the basis of caste,race,religion.sect,province they belong etc. Am I right???

A good aspect of the next government will be constitutionally restricting the size of the cabinet. Following are the constitutional provisions regarding Federal Cabinet:-

Provided that the number of Federal Ministers and Ministers of State who are members of the Senate shall not at any time exceed one-fourth of the number of Federal Ministers.

[Provided further that the total strength of the Cabinet, including Ministers of State, shall not exceed a eleven percent of the total membership of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament):

Provided also that the aforesaid amendment shall be effective from the next general election held after the commencement of the Constitution (Eighteenth Amendment) Act, 2010.]

Last time in Balochistan number of ministers and advisers were 64 out of 65 (total membership of Prov Assembly). Now there will be 15 members after 18th Amendment.

That make 37 Ministers (Federal and State). And what about at least a dozen of Advisors with the status of Federal Minister? Does the Constitution put a bar to appoint such Advisors? No, I guess.

The next government would be a mosaic. Again, parties with small number of seats would be able to manipulate the system, government and the people. I wish there be a strong resistance, strong opposition for the better of the country.

1[93. Advisers.-(1) The President may, on the advice of the Prime Minister, appoint not more than five advisers, on such terms and conditions as he may determine.

AoA

i) Perhaps everybody can anticipate certain things, like next government will be a democratic government, chosen by the vote of the people of Pakistan. Political parties in power at Centre and those at power in provinces will not be the same. Political parties having good minority will play the shots. :)

ii) Calculation of 37 Ministers and number of Advisors makes some point. If at all the number of Ministers 37 and Advisors 5 is kept a standard, then who knows that after how many months Ministers and Advisors will be changed!! Then Parliamentary Secretaries, then there are Standing Committees, so everybody will be able to get good share in decision making and to work very hard for the betterment of the poor nation :roll

iii) As happened in previous general elections, next government may be a combination of many parties. But this strong opposition idea seems to be a wishful thinking :)

iv) Preferably, keep fingers crossed till elections are concluded :waiting

[B]Bro, 18th amendment was passed in Apr 8.2010. Was it implicitly written somewhere that it's implementation would be done from 2013 onwards?[/B] :shy
