Dear friend. You say that muslim students who have already memorized the Holy Quran get extra marks in admissions in colleges and job. And non muslims are not allowed to become the president of Pakistan and you say that this is descrimination with non muslims. But you forgot to mention that
there are extra seats for minorities in jobs, css, pms exams. There are special minority seats for admission in colleges and universities, so they enjoy quota system which muslims do not. which you did not mention at all.
Moreover this is an islamic state not a secular state. If any other islamic country of the world is granting priority to non muslim in jobs, admissions etc who have memorized bible, gita etc. Then Pakistan is doing descrimination with non muslims.

Dear all
I have thought much about the very question. Briefly my opinion is that our Constitution is not our own. We are a nation being a muslim. Greatest Constitution we all read, admit and believe is Holy Quran. We could have deputed some Muslim Law experts to codify a new constitution nearest (with respect to current age needs) with that of our Great Contitution. This is i think our main flaw that we could not define our own Constitution till now.
Please Comment...
Best regards,

In my opinion, Religion was used as a binding force to collect all the Muslims of Subcontinent for the effort of a separate homeland. Imagine, if we did not have the religious excuse, then there was nothing to support our claim. Jinnah realized that and despite being a secular, he had to use religious references and quotes in his speeches because most of Muslim population was illiterate. He gathered all of us on the base of same religion but he did not want Pakistan to become an extremist state which we mean by Islamisation.

If any non-muslim make it to the parliament then how much chances are there that other Muslim members will elect him as a president ? . Consequently , he will not be elected .

Moreover the main reason is the President in islamic state is considered to be the khalifa who will treat people according to the law of quran because he believe that this is the only complete just law in the world a non muslim will not do this justice because he dont accept quran as just law.. so he will do justice according to his own or people laws .. so the justice will not be done and if there is no justice there is no peace.

At the end , Islam is the best religion which provides justice to all minorities . Any other law or religion cannot provide that much justice and freedom to minorities than Islam . Actually , we are not following Islam in its real essence that is why we are facing problems .
Exactly, If a Non-Muslim can not become president of the Pakistan the what is the purpose of that clause in our constitution??

Hello friends, this is my first participation in any discussion, please correct me, at least I have tried to write something I have in my mind with the limited capacity of grammar.

In my opinion, the motive of the partition was to divide two different nations into their own shape. Because of their none compromising approach towards each other, for the reason that both can never be on the same page, It was the two nation theory behind the motive to make Pakistan. And the two nation theory was not a sudden idea of any intellect; it was the outcome of the differences between two nations. They had tried to live under the same umbrella but soon, both felt the fact of trouncing of umbrella if they did not accept their realities. It was like “a fly and an eagle” that have the same atmosphere to fly but have different destinations, and both have to lead their majority in their own way.

By taking about secularism in Pakistan we are trying to create the umbrella war again, if we will keep doing this we would be dividing our country into smaller territorial parts.

Furthermore, Islam is the complete code of life; it provides the way to lead a nation, and most importantly it don’t discriminate the humans by their race, color or religion.

Our problem is neither the “Islamic state nor Secularism”. It is just the way we dealing with our problems. We have leadership crises to deal with the problems we facing, we can’t make decisions, and as a nation we are more vocal than practical.

regards,

if Islam is the solution to our problems? if yes, then we should own it regardless of what Jinnah said.

if Islam is not the solution to our problems, then we should not own it regardless of what Jinnah said.

and anyways Islam claims to be a message for the world, and not just Pakistan. so if Islam is right, it is a necessary for the whole world to own it and not just Pakistan.

Need your views.
Dont you people think that this 'Ideology tussle' between Islamists and Seculars is the root cause of the current political and social turmoil in Pakistan?

What Jinnah wanted was A PROGRESSIVE ISLAMIC STATE, if you go through his speeches and whatever he said about Pakistan then you'd come to the conclusion that a progressive Islamic state was his ideal for Pakistan. It is the responsibility of each and every educated Pakistani to do her/his own research in order to comprehend these sorts of problems that are still here even after the passage of sixty six long years. If you're talking about resolving the conflict between Left and Right, I doubt that would ever be the case. The best we can do is stop looking at Jinnah and other founding fathers for the vision of Pakistan. We have a state now and it will not dissolve if we scrap the Two Nation Theory. If we don't, it will only continue to produce complications in the treatment of the little minority we have. Moreover, it will continue to produce monsters like the TTP who claim that they are right in their stance because Pakistan was created in the name of Islam and their interpretation of Shariah law should be implemented here. It will keep providing fodder for them.
