Our geographical position is our strength

It was May 2005, the 60th birthday of the end of second world war was going to be celebrated, the Crimlen Hall was looking gorgeous, number of international political stars were there, those who were attacked by canons were then subjected to be welcomed. Mr. George Walker Bush was saying to his pretty wife Laura;
“This is Mr.Man Mohan Singh, the premier of India, India’s
development is very drastic and due to this respect it really
need an absolute provision of energy, and another important
thing which is so relative to India is that,it bear 12% of Muslim
population and amazingly none of them is relatedwith Al-Qaida.”

Then he turned towards Mr. Man Mohan and said;
“Mr.Man Mohan I need to talk to you on civil nucus (civil
nuclear technology).”
Well, right after nine months of this incident President Bush had his visit to South Asia, where in India he proclaimed his contract of civil nuclear technology with Indian government.
This shows clear that the liaison between rich and poor democracies is growing rapidly, and US is wide openly supporting India to become a great Asian power in this 21st century. All observers and inquisitives whether they are Asian, European or American, they are all asserting that US wants to stand India against China whose flash economic, political and military development is simply indigestible for them, and as they predicted that China could be their worst challenger in future. Also US is trying to convince European leaders that they want such Asian country who should be greatly populous, should bear great area, who should be democratic right according to their famous global rules and who should have no relations with terrorism and extremism which is nowadays serving itself as a most hot cake, and thus we can see that India has got all these qualities.
Now what is the assessment of Indian constitutionalists? They are establishing desirable relationships with China, they are having border negotiations with them plus they are working out a lot in economic and social fields as well.
If we want to get an idea about their conceptual depth regarding their relationship with US and other big powers, we can have a deep look over the statement of Mr. Sheyam Saran, the foreign Indian Pri-minister, who also belong to the organization of their basic policies i.e “The Indian Establishment”, he said;
“A strong and durable relation that could act as a bridge against
the arc of Islamic non-solidarity that has so stretched from
Middle East to Asia.”
Here if we speculate the above statement, we will get to know that by terming terrorism and extremism as Islamic non-solidarity, how easily India has found its way to develop close ties with US, EU and other Asian powers.

No doubt that after 9/11 several global personalities visited us, but we can see that during last 18 months how fluently Russian Federation, China, Japan, France, UK, USA and Australia has visited India and have made number of economic, social, defense and political contracts with it like for e.g. Russian Federation has recently agreed to supply 60 million metric ton uranium to the TARA POR nuclear reactor also it has made 7 contracts regarding space banking and technology, energy of oil and gas etc, plus establishment of Kundan Kalam nuclear reactor in Tamil Nada with Russian co-operation is another example.
Now the question that how India is manifesting its democracy, value and depth of its market, social freedom, surety of peace and its exonerance in regards of terrorism. And to work out on how Indian government, opposition, educational sector, trading sector, showbiz and scientists are working in their subjective fields under so assigned tactics in these concerns is the job of out foreign ministry, ministry of communication, secret service, opposition, educationists, traders, showbiz and scientists. Well, what we want to highlight is that, the region where we are living has gained great economic, political and security importance. Big powers want to stay here for their benefits; in tucker, they cannot leave our territory in the same manner like they did in the pervious decade of 80 & 90.

We all know that nowadays the world hasn’t been subjected to such typical violence and sophistication that we are facing. All sort of perplexity, anxiety, conflicts, anti-solidarity, insurrection, prejudice i.e. if we want to see such variety then we must say, its all available here, right here, but along with this the chances of fast economic development, energy, electricity, cement, steel and food consumption are also in abundance.

To see what are the factors which have prominated the value of our region we better start from Palestine, Iraq and Iran, the tyranism of Israel on Palestine, blasts, deaths and absence of security in Iraq even in the presence of supporting troops, US efforts to establish so called democratic society in Palestine and Iraq, presence of military of occidental bloc in Afghanistan and their failure to place a strong society even after subjecting democratic (puppet in actual words) government, the political crises in Pakistan, its continuous struggle against terrorism, its ill-feelings with India although after having a talk on Kashmir dispute, attacks on its Frontier and Balochistan borders from the side of Indian embassies in Afghanistan, then its comes cold war in India, its neutral foreign ministry, its struggle with the left sided political parties in order to convert their foreign and political policies as neutral ones, the avarice look of US and EU on its huge markets, rapid economic development of China Republic. Thus all these positive and negative factors have sketched the position of this entire region quiet sharply. Along with this the oil treasure of Saudi Arab and gulf, their economic development and the issue of handing over the administration of US ports to one of the Emirates firm cannot be ignored.

Thus in light of this background, Pakistan’s position has turned quiet sensitive, essential and prominent. As neighbors cannot be change, same likewise one cannot change its geographical position either. No doubt it’s our misfortune, drowsiness and national ossification that we didn’t turn this factor as our social, economic and military strength.
If West wants to go to the far eastern countries, they need to fly over our sky, or they have to cross our regional ocean and sometimes they need to have a stay at our side as well. Similarly if west and Far Eastern counties want to go to Central Asian countries through ocean routes then in that case the hospitality of Karachi and Gawader ports turn obvious. Without referring Pakistani routes the economic development of India and Afghanistan is simply impossible, plus our position for Chinese development also counts a lot. Thus with respect to these figures I really want to say that our tea and café holders and various other shopkeepers are much better than our constitutionalists and planning commissions, as they are really making great earning by working at city junctions and crossings.

It is our geographical position that had made our relationship with US and made us the member of CENTO & SEATO, while on the other hand our position made Russian Federation to mark us red in its policies. It was our geographical position that enabled us to become host of European leaders after Russian ferocity in Afghanistan. Same likewise it was our position that enhanced our value after the incident of 9/11. Certainly it’s a great honor for us that is so granted by Allah, we have derriffic geography, wonderful ocean, the mighty desert, magnificent mountain chain, big rivers, furtile lands, treasure of minerals, metals, oil and gas, we have diligent, devoted, sincere and patriotic people, talented youth, if we can manufacture atomic bombs, ballistic and cruise missiles and if we can construct our sub marines and why can’t we use our technological skills in the enhancement of our trade and industry?

So now in light of the drastic regional and international changes, we have to speculate that what could be the factors, which would bring solidarity and what we have to do in order to attain them. Its not only the job of our government and opposition but it is the damnly due on our nation as well that how can we avail our precious geographical values, our natural resources, our thousand years old civilization and customs, the creative skills of our loyal and diligent people, craftsmen and actors, the experience of our traders and industrialists, and our talented and remarkable youth which is working in management, finance and I.T sector.
It’s the marked feature that in the whole world, instead of leaders its the people who take their country forward, and Pakistan is not apart from this world and certainly its nation will work out to represent and develop its society INSHA ALLAH.

In response to all ur queries I have a simple answer though difficult to execute but factual. Dear its only "Attitude" of the people of a country/nation that determine its fate.Well if we take a glimpse of world's leading nations all have one thing common their attitude towards progress and commitment to cause.Countries like Singapore,America,Switzerland and Austalia are no longer the part of ancient civilization(Rich historical Background) but are much prosperous (GDP+Industrialization Set up+ High Job trend) than very old established civilizations like Egypt,Greece and Indo-PAk region.Similalry natural resources didn't determine the cause of growth in economy.Switzerland has not a single cocoa plant but Swiss choclates have a big name of Choclate industry.So dear in my little knowledge and analysis, the first and the last thing for any country including our beloved country is the right attitude. Regrettably this positive attitude is very rare in socities of third world countries.Take an example of Chineese people got independence after one year of Pakistan,but just only due to the positive attitude of their nation they make a mark in nation's lead. Our relegion also help us by guiding the principles of success in both lives but unfortunately we go after the theory of Islam not practicing it in real life.Malaysia is another good example of emerging economical giants.So the need is to develop an attitude first to build our country an example for others. Our Quaid also mentioned the key to prosperity "Unity,Faith and Descipline".I look a long way,but sorry to say not found any of these pillars implemented in our society. I wana quote here a verse of Iqbal truly depict the need of the day.

Afraad kay haathoo may hay Aqwaam ki taqdeer
Har fard hay millat kay muqqadar ka Sitara

Great work Maria Khan and quite fascinating explanation Najabat. I'm totally agree with you. Certainly, it's an open secret for success of a nation. It is high time we understood the very nature of Iqbal's verses and the Qauid's speeches and sayings throughout his life span. Still we can be one of the great nations in this world once we relinquish the habit of depending on our governments (leaders) and look toward working together to understand the very slogan of the Quaid, i.e. Unity, Faith, and Discipline. After all, God help those who help themselves.
