Dear aspirants, can anyone please inform me about the duties, responsibilities of Village chairman and what are the criteria or eligibility for Chairman in Local Govt election. I am gonna to stand up for that...

@ Fahad Ahsaan: I opine the system of local bodies we have inherited from our old masters, carries with itself a lot of defects and flaws and is too outdated to fit to our present system. Further, absence of checks and balances, lack of education, unawareness of masses, too much political preponderance from high ups, cronyism, and above all nature of our political culture, render the local govt. system entirely infutile. further, on account of the above factors and the like, Pervez Musharraf's Devolution Plan 2000, didnt yield anything in the right direction.
To me, Entire re engineering of the current political system/ culture is the need of the hour.
