India as a great power
No one can deny the fact that India will rise up as a great power. In spite of that she has a many problems to solve but her way seems smooth. Second largest population, boosting economy, BRICs, SCO observer, and above all support in region and by world powers. It is pity on us that we are still denying the change in regional situation.

India can be included in emerging powers because of india market and economy, but being an asian country india has many similar issue as pakistan and other asian countries are going through. India has no different issues like corruption, illiteracy, poverty and over population,so we can say india is far from becoming super power in coming decade. An other plus point of india is that they,as a nation, have great vision and vigour to become a king of asia which we lack. They have got a direction but we are still at crossroads, are't we??

Well one can not turn down the fact the India is progressing but labeling it a new super would be quite an immature and inflated idea. We should not forget that this region already has two regional powers (Russia and China) contesting for supremacy and hegemony. They are a lot more sophisticated in their global countenance than India. And in this situation of power play in the region, it is unlikely that these regional powers would concede any substantial breathing space to India to emerge as another powerful player in South Asia.

India cannot become great power but may stumble in the way of China through out the south Asian countries: where China is wanting Pearls Of Strings. No doubt India can surpass all its SAARC members countries and many others; one should not live in fool's paradise, primarily Pakistan to compete with the Indian economy in such circumstances. We cannot stand on the equal footing with India in terms of business and trade beside militarily, which is not the necessity of the time, unless we overcome the terrorism and energy crisis we scarcely make the parity situation in the Indo-Pak state.
