Default 23-9-17 President approves extension of Police Act 1861 to FATA
ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to extend Police Act 1861 to FATA as the President Mamnoon Hussain has approved changes in the policing system in FATA.
According to reports, the president house is likely to issue notification today in this regard. Quoting the sources, the reports said that Levies system would be replaced with police system like in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and KP. Levies commandant would be replaced by IG police, while all levies offices would be replaced by police.
