The Ancient History Of India And Pakistan

The ancient history of Indian subcontinent takes us to an era of The Eemian also called the last interglacial which began about 130,000 years ago.

Anatomically modern humans are thought to have arrived on the Indian subcontinent from Africa between 70,000 and 120,000 years ago.
Chandragupta Maurya, who established Maurya Dynasty and ruled almost the entire India, was the first Hindu King of India.

However, if epics are to be believed, according to Mahabharata, the ancient Sanskrit epic, Bharat, the son of King Dushyant and Shakuntala was the first Hindu King of India.

The empire was established by Chandragupta Maurya assisted by Chanakya ‘Kautilya’ in Magadha ‘in modern Bihar’ when he overthrew the Nanda dynasty. Chandragupta rapidly expanded his power westwards across central and western India, and by 317 BCE the empire had fully occupied Northwestern India.

Until the Siege of Baghdad 1258 the Soomra dynasty was the Abbasid Caliphate’s functionary in sindh but after that it became independent. Thatta was the capital of the empire for about 96 years until the end of Soomra rule in 1356 AD.

The Soomra dynasty were rulers from the Indian subcontinent, based at Sindh. Although communal stories state them to be of Arab origin, the soomro dynasty ruled in the Sindh region of the Indian subcontinent (present-day Pakistan) from 1026 to 1356.

The Khalji or Khilji dynasty was a Muslim dynasty which ruled large parts of the Indian subcontinent between 1290 and 1320. It was founded by Jalal ud din Firuz Khalji and became the second dynasty to rule the Delhi Sultanate of India.

The Tughlaq dynasty also referred to as Tughluq or Tughluk dynasty, was a Muslim dynasty of Turko-Indian origin which ruled over the Delhi sultanate in medieval India. Its reign started in 1320 in Delhi when Ghazi Malik assumed the throne under the title of Ghiyath al-Din Tughluq. The dynasty ended in 1413.

The early modern period began in the 16th century, when the Mughal Empire conquered most of the Indian subcontinent. Mughals Empire ruled India 1526 to 1857 before the establishment of British rule in India.

East India Company. ruled India 1612–1757.
East India company also known as British East India company was an English and later British joint-stock company. It was formed to trade in the Indian Ocean region, initially with Mughal India and the East Indies ‘Maritime Southeast Asia’, and later with Qing China.

Company rule in India effectively began in 1757 and lasted until 1858, when, following the Indian Rebellion of 1857, the Government of India Act 1858 led to the British Crown’s assuming direct control of the Indian subcontinent in the form of the new British Raj.

The British invaded and ruled Indian subcontinent from 1858 to 1947. It lasted until 1947, when it was partitioned into two sovereign dominion states: the Dominion of India ‘later the Republic of India’and the Dominion of Pakistan ‘later the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’.
