This article by Ansar Abbasi about the Deputy Inspector General Kohat Zulfiqar Cheema suggests that there are still 'fanatics' like Cheema sb who often do a thing or two to redeem and reclaim some of the lost glory of civil service. This article, an extremely rare item in favour of a senior police officer appeared in the February 8 issues of The News and Jang.
The conditions are trying out there but people like Cheema sb are always there, though on the fringe, to challenge the might of their political masters.
Things are not too tight for CSPs. If they have moral courage and integrity, they can certainly stand up and be counted.
See how lady Saira Karim faced the wrath of our former 'big arm' law minister. But how many of them are willing to stand the heat and emulate of Ms Karim or Mr Cheema is the real moot point.
