The shoe in demand
Posted by Shyema Sajjad
A man has offered 600,000 rupees for the shoe used in the assault on former Sindh chief minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim. According to a Dawn report, a Pakistan Peoples Party activist Kazim Hakim has announced that he would like to buy the shoe for his private collection.
The activist said that he was interested in adding that shoe to his ‘privately maintained museum’ because the incident had taught a lesson to the traitors of Sindh. Meanwhile, it has been reported that police have arrested Agha Javed Pathan, who is believed to be the owner of the infamous shoe. According to the PPI, police were pressured into arresting Javed who was clearly visible in the television footage of the incident.
Meanwhile, PPP has denied that Javed is associated with their party and claimed that he is an impersonator involved in an alleged conspiracy to defame the party. Interestingly, Daily Times reported that the man who hit Rahim had been his own servant for the past four years.
