MR. SOHAIL AHMAD FBR Chairman
 

Mr. Sohail Ahmad Joined the 1979 batch of Civil Services in the District Management Group. He has worked extensively since then in field, staff and policy assignments.

He holds a Master’s Degree in English Literature from Punjab University and taught at Gordon College, Rawalpindi before joining the Civil Services. He completed his Master Degree program in Public Management from Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburg PA; USA in 1986. Mr. Sohail Ahmad has served in NWFP and Punjab where he worked as Deputy Commissioner, Bahawalnagar in 1997. He has also served as Member (Admin), CDA and as Joint Secretary, Establishment Division.

Mr. Sohail Ahmad has served as Secretary Planning & Development, Secretary, Health and Secretary, Finance in the Punjab Government. On his promotion to BS-21 he continued as Secretary Finance in the Punjab Government, where he led two annual budget preparations. He subsequently became Chairman, Planning and Development Board, Punjab before shifting to the Finance Division in Islamabad. He was selected to become Chairman, FBR in view of his distinguished public service career.

Mr. Sohail enjoys a reputation of unimpeachable integrity and is known to be a reform oriented team player.

He has represented Pakistan at various international fora in USA, UK, Canada, Belgium, Japan, Malaysia, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, New zealand, Austria and Singapore
