Post New FPSC secretary in two days

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is all set to get its new secretary within the next couple of days.

The incumbent secretary has been informed about his new assignment while the new secretary is likely to take charge on Saturday, official sources in the Establishment Division told The News here on Thursday.

The FPCS Secretariat sources also confirmed that the orders for relinquishment of the sitting Secretary, Shaukat Durrani, have been received from the Establishment

Division and a notification for his replacement is pend-ing.

The sources said that Durrani, a District Management Group (DMG) officer, would assume the post of in charge secretary Population Welfare after the retirement of Nayyar Agha, Secretary

Ministry of Population Wel-fare.

“The orders clearly say that the secretary FPSC would assume his new assignment at the Population Welfare Ministry from February 23, 2010,” an official said. Nayyar Agha will retire on February 22.

When approached, Durrani confirmed that he had been asked to take the acting charge of secretary Ministry of Population Welfare. “Hopefully, the Establishment Division will finalise a name within the next couple of days to replace me.”
