Suicide bomber killed, three officials hurt in Islamabad airport blast


ISLAMABAD: A suicide bomber blew himself up after opening fire at the Islamabad International airport Tuesday, killing himself and injuring three security officials, report said.

An accomplice of the attacker has been detained by the police, who opened fire at security officials before the other detonated himself up.

According to details, the attackers were heading towards the airport in a taxi and opened firing when security staffers tried to stop them, which injured three airport security officials.

One of the attackers suddenly blew himself up while the other two including the taxi driver have been arrested by law enforcement agencies.

It was learnt that countrywide airports have been put on high alert while Islamabad airport has been completely sealed soon after the incident.

Armed attack at Pakistan airport


At least one person has been killed and three injured in an explosion at Islamabad's international airport, Pakistani police say.
A senior police officer at the scene told the BBC the blast occurred after a group of armed men were challenged by security guards near the car park.

Three of the attackers were injured in an exchange of fire. One tried to throw a grenade, but died when it exploded.

There are conflicting reports that a suicide bomber blew himself up.

Last month, a suicide bomber attacked a top hotel in the capital, killing one person and injuring several others.

this is painful ... i dont understand where pakistan is going!.....suicide bombing is increasing day by day in pakistan...what is the future of pakistan and i dont understand what is govt doing here...where r the plans and strategies against terrorism....dont u think govt is totally a failure in this regard??

thanks dear for up to date news.

its sad to hear that, last night atack (tuesday, feb.07)was the latest in a string of violent attacks over the past fortnight in the country, and the second in Islamabad after the Marriot attack on Jan. 26.

Now Govt has been put all its cards on the table. They have developed working plans against suicide bombing attacks this is why the suicide bomb attacks are a fiasco. What if they would have not took any actoin? Thank God they are trying to control the attacks.

But they need to put a halt to suicidal attacks by hitting the rationales behind these attacks. Because if they would resolve the issues then we would be able to save Pakistan from the scrouge of terror.

Now its a time for govt. to take these attacks seriously, it will only done when govt. resolve its issues.
its the only way to stop these attacks and save Pakistan.it seems that our country is on fire and poeple are upset due to shocking strings of suicide attacks.
it also comes at a time when our relation with Afghanistan are under tremendous strain and fixing them first has greator priority for the Pakistani's peace of mind and security.

Now the things at the govt. are nt so bad... everyone is trying his best.
well i m not thier spokesperson but tht wat is evident frm the news, Govt. actions and policies...
So i think we need to have patience bcoz the reuslts will nt come in days it might take months and years . illiteracy is the major cause in producing suiside attackers. We have to increase our literacy ratio.. this is a DO or Die matter for us.
So things r nt much dark... there is a bright side of it as well.... progress is going on and we must hope tht it brings fruitful result for us and our next generation. Ameen
