Default Protection Freedom Of Expression Not Lies:

Democracy and freedom of expression are perceived as the notions adored by everybody in the contemporary world. Freedom of expression has become so prevalent all over the world that anybody can demonstrate oneself as he wants. Men have different behaviors and motives. To satisfy these motives and interests they present themselves differently. Mostly, men are found to be multifaceted. To hide their foibles and inefficiencies, they have to use the shoulder of lies. That is why truth has become a rare commodity even in this vibrant world of media. It necessitates that freedom of expression should be filtered, surveiled and under tenets of morality, to enlighten the humanity with truth and righteousness.

The case of blasphemy of religious supremos by different scoundrels having sick mentality, betokens the best epitome of promoting lies in the fluent attire of freedom of expression. The contemporary world is the era of least morality. Most of laws have been stipulated to protect the moral values of the civilizations. So when a ludicrous and fallacious expression could create worldwide chaos, it had better be suppressed and buried. Furthermore, nothing against the authentic testaments of history, should be allowed to prevail. It has always been a human practice that when a man finds someone enemy, he tends to calumniate him polemically due to natural excitement of emotions of hatred. This calumniation would not be called freedom of expression, rather it would be conceived as the manifestation of moral degradation. And in an epoch where morality is already on the death-bed, it needs recuperation instead of pressing it more into the swamp of sin and darkness.

In Pakistan, media is frequently involved in presenting distorted facts permeating information crisis in the society. The most maiming detriment to the country is the evolution of highly divided and polarized society. Presently, to search the truth out of amalgamation of rumors and invalidated information, has become a most tedious job. Moreover, due to commercialization of media sector and to win the race of ratings all the doctrines of morality as well as the laws of land have been tattered into pieces. Consequently, media has turned into an institution which is more torture than bliss for the public.

There is no denying the fact that the time has come when the lies , misinformation and mutilated histories etc will have to be filtered to attain truth, goodness and enlightenment. Freedom of expression is undoubtedly a man's basic right but as far as it does not inflict the fundamental right of others. When intrinsic rights of others would be infringed upon, it would no longer be named as freedom of expression, rather it would be regarded as the violation of rights. For harmony of the world, freedom of expression will have to be surveiled and restrained to the levels of morality so that it should be separated from the "Freedom to tell unchecked Lies.
