Assalam o alaikum, anyone has idea about the recent tests conducted by etea of merit list and it's 16 bps, so what will be the nature of the job? it's perks and benefits or authority? i don't think so that it will have any authority parallel to its such a big name "district monitoring officer". i believe it will be like an officer assistant. correct if i am wrong.

It's a contract job means only fixed pay having no allowances or may be there is fuel allowance. Nature of job is only Data Collection and preparing reports such as services delivered by different Public Offices in time and not in time. No authority at all.

Since it's monitoring job; you will have to pay visit to Public Offices and you might be provided with some allowance for it in addition to salary. It's a good job provided you are jobless and have no clear goal in life. It would have been District Monitoring Officer in it's real sense if the authority of imposing fine vested in it. However it's a new department and will take some time to establish.

Exactly bro, couldn't be explained better. If given authority then it will be one charming job. So i guess one should not keep high expectations from this job. Do you have other information regarding this job? One will use it's own transport for visiting or will be provided? About promotion? what comes after D.M.O etc?

Wake up guys! Our DMO in E&SE Department has all the authority and power that he needs in order to dispose of his duty. DMO is administrative head of the activities in any district (and by this I mean monitoring activities) and is responsible to report to his high-ups. Plus he can take head-on all the public officials of that department when it comes to various issues. That's a dynamic and versatile career if you get the job, go for it.

1. There is authority.
2. It's a contract job until and unless it gets regularized through some legislation there is no future but it is a bird in hand.
3. DMO is provided with a car in settled areas/ jeep in hilly terrain and a driver plus fuel.
4. No promotion, indeed mostly PMS officers and inducted on deputation in such projects. In case of regularization, relevant service structure will also be passed from provincial assembly. Till then you're just a DMO.

well brother, in your E&SE department, the DMO might have such authority and privileges but we are talking about DMO in Right to Public Services Commission. What do you think the DMO in RTS Commission will also have such perks and authority?

Except point number 2, i hardly think that:
1. There will be any authority. Do you any DMO who can exercise authority? by Authority what exactly do you mean?
2. Is provided with car, driver and fuel? are you sure? that a 16 BPS personnel will be given a car and driver?
3. PMS officers are given such post, because they come through competitive examination and are in 17 BPS minimum, why they will be posted on 16 BPS post?

1. By authority I mean he has discretionary powers regarding the indicators that he is monitoring. Moreover, he has the authority to contest any anomaly on behalf of his team. Indeed he is very much independent of the system in deciding the fate of the actions.

2. It's not the post but the nature of the job. DMO too has to make some visits on monthly basis. Now, BS 16 is a valid point I'm not sure what is going to happen here but that's the usual practice.

3. PMS officers won't be posted on BS 16 posts but in RTS, maybe they are to be inducted in the headquarters and DMOs will be subordinate to them. I believe that DMO is 16 because those sitting in the headquarters are also 17 and DMOs are 17 too in other departments of the province.

After all is said and done, go for it if you are unemployed and want a relax job and some respect. Otherwise, go for a low income job of your field.

PS: With such kind of job experience you have ample chance of ending in UN organizations who will pay you 100k - 250k for the same job. Again, you don't have it unless you have it, prepare yourself for the interview if you're not interested go ahead and find yourself a better job. Good luck brother.
