A AND B do a job together in two hours. working alone A does the job in 5 hours. how long will it take B to do the job alone?
(a) 2 hrs
(b)2 1/3 (its mix number)
(c)2 1/2 (its mixed number)
(d)3 1/3 (its mixed number)

if 27^n=9^8 then n=?
A 4/3
b 2
c 8/3
d 3
e 8

correct answer is c but plz explain how c

General Formula
If A can do a piece of job in = n days
then A's 1 day work=1/n
So the solution of Above question will be
(A+B)'s doing job in=2 hours
(A+B)'s 1hour job=1/2
A's alone job in 1 hour=1/5
So B's 1 hour job will b=1/2 - 1/5=3/10
Hence by general formula B alone can complete the job in = 10/3 hour= 3 1/3 (mixed number) option d.
(Q#2) 27^n=9^8
(3)^3*n=(3)^2*8 As bases are equal so we get
3*n=2*8 or 3n=16 or n=16/3 so correct answer is option f:None of the Above : )

all ans are incorrect...

the correct ans is i.e. n=16/3

sol:

27^n is same as 3^3n

9^8 is same as 3^2*8 or 3^16

when the base is same i.e. 3 in our case then the powers can be written in equation.

3n = 16

n = 16/3...........

If 3m < 48 and 2m > 24, then m could equal which of the following?
A. 10
B. 12
C. 14
D. 16
E. 18

SOLUTION:
m<48/3 =m<19 and m>24/2 = m>12
it means value of m lies b/w 12-19 it can be 13,14,15,16,17,18 then y ans is C.14??

1. If the result obtained by multiplying a number, x, by a number 1 less
than itself is 4 less than multiplying x by itself, then x =?
2.If 2x.2y = 3z ,x + y/z=?
need solution
