Min Marks for Interview = 60 to 65
All posts merit based, nothing to do with domicile

Lightbulb Government job vs Private

Salams,

I want to get your recommendations regarding the situation that if someone having a good salary i.e. 75-100k in private job (IT sector, because it is the most and only demanding industry now a days) is offered a permanent job in Government sector at 17 scale (pay: 30-40k), what should he do? or what you would do if you were in that place?

Considering Pros and Cons of both, i.e.:

Private Job in IT sector are very rewarding; good salary with high increments, by which you can make your life prosper. But uncertainty about long term future and old age/retirement. Demands hard work.

On the other side, government job are secure but limits the person to live a moderate life or you can say just hand to mouth. But seems honorable in Pakistan as well as gives peace of mind in long term and retirement.

So, what you suggest; should one keep his private job or go for government; keeping in mind that switching back to private is almost impossible?

Sorry for bad formatting I cannot post a picture here of the source document, this is the authentic pays approved, top showing is best possible pay at 10% increment per year and bottom is worst possible at 5% increment per year. increment depends on performance.

You may see here the salary strucutre is the worst in market. however the highest grades in SNGPL like MD are having salaries of above 6lac per month basic. executives upto govmnt scale 19 are around 1 lac per month. (takes 20 years + of experience to be 19 grade officer in SNGPL)
