Default Does CGPA in BS affect the chances of getting a scholarhip applied on basis of GAT?

I have 71% marks in my Bachelors in Science (BS). Now I am going to take the GAT General before MS.

I want to avail a scholarship for MS (can't really pay fees for MS to be honest). Although my result in BS is not outstanding, but I have always been very bright before my BS. So I am sure if I prepare well, I can manage to do well in the GAT inshaALLAH.

The question is that if I do manage to get outstanding marks in GAT General, will my CGPA in BS affect my chances of getting a scholarship?

The second question is that do all the GAT exams taken round the year fall in the category of those on the basis of which we apply for scholarships? Are they all just the same in this regard? How do I find out if I can apply for scholarships in the very first GAT conducted in 2016?

Thank you in advance.

You should apply for Fulbright Scholarship through USEFP, where GPA doesn't matter. improve your analytical, English and Mathematics, because these three subjects are important to avail this opportunity

Are you sure that CGPA doesn't matter in Fulbright? Because I have heard that it is highly competitive and CGPA matters a lot.

For HEC Local Scholarships, the GPA is not taken into consideration as long as you have a 1st division. Prepare for GAT, get good enough marks, and you'll make it.

For most of the foreign scholarships i know of, well the GPA DOES MATTER, to some extend. So, i ll recommend a local Masters, where you can make up for not-so-good bachelors GPA, and polish your research skills.

Good Luck

Thank you so very much. That's what I am aiming at and preparing for at the moment. I hope above 70% is first division.

Out of 4.00 GPA y0u have to take 2.50 (65%) to stand in the category of 1st division.
Try to secure 70+ marks in GAT General to avail any scholarship and for 70+ marks y0u have to work on y0ur analytical skills and English, cox these are of much imp in the GAT.
And keep looking for PEEF Scholarships, HEC Indigenous Scholarships and many local universities offer MS leading to PhD Scholarships.

I have a lot of and useful data regarding GAT General, if you need that post your email id here.
Good Luck!

Hi Bilal Hassan Mughal,

I am sorry for not responding earlier. I had got side-tracked.

I found myself a little hesitant to post my email address in a public forum, so I emailed you instead (got your email address from your profile).

I'll be grateful if you can share the material you have. Thank you.
